Astral is not the usual mystery. It might be called soft urban fantasy/mystery, with elements of the paranormal and some physics thrown into the mix. Set in the Pacific Northwest, Astral introduces Seattle Detective Jack Darvesh Doyle, who has the unusual murder of a top-level leader from a Triad thrust upon him. In the strangest case of his career, Doyle is dumbfounded as more gang members fall dead. No witnesses see a thing and no clues are left behind. Into the puzzle steps an exotic Lebanese woman, Zaina Khoury, who claims to have psychic knowledge of the killings, but her intrusion only deepens the mystery.

Could a new Adam be preparing us for the return of Christ--but in a way not predicted in the Bible? The answer to this question can be found in the strange turn of events at the world-famous Milagro Shrine. Based in northern New Mexico, this powerful healing site has become the American counterpart to Lourdes, France. The grounds caretaker is the gentle and unassuming Adam Gwillt. As pilgrims pray at the shrine, many have enigmatic encounters with Adam. Thousands experience astonishing healings. But suddenly and for no apparent reason, Adam disappears from sight and the healings stop.Jonathan Ramsey, the protagonist of this supernatural tale of mystery and global intrigue, is a specialist in the study of sacred places who is called in to investigate the disappearance of the shrine's healing powers. When Ramsey first encounters the site, long forgotten emotional wounds rise to the surface. This experience culminates in a mystical apparition that draws him deeply into his assignment. Ramsey interviews the strange cast of eccentric characters involved with the shrine, slowly piecing together the story of how it grew up at the foot of a cottonwood tree and rapidly expanded after numerous paranormal events--all of which point to the caretaker's enigmatic presence.Three rival groups descend on the shrine to find Adam. A right-wing Christian organization wants to destroy him; a progressive group of modern-day Christian Gnostics plans to convince Adam to lead them as a new savior; and a third group hopes to commercialize Adam's healing powers. The race to find Adam moves into high gear. Eventually the parties collide in a desperate attempt to capture him. As the contest resolves itself, Ramsey suddenly realizes he's been a pawn in a larger drama. What is revealed is the very meaning of Christ's promise to return to earth and lead humanity into a new era--but in ways not anticipated by the churches or by anyone else. Amid the international struggle to control Adam's powers and thereby determine the future of Christian belief, Ramsey discovers his own role in fostering an epochal renewal of Christianity. Along the way, readers also learn why sacred places create communities of faith and become portals of healing power. The Adam Enigma is a rare event in spiritual fiction--a postmodern novel for the liberal or progressive reader who nonetheless loves Jesus and what he stands for. It's Jesus-oriented fiction "for the rest of us"--creative, non-doctrinaire, and open to the future. Enjoy this page-turning mystery with its rich array of unforgettable characters, wild plot, and exotic settings.

The most common explanation for the Bigfoot phenomena is that they are artificial life forms brought to Earth tens of thousands of years ago by aliens, designed to evolve and learn about the nature of the earth and its inhabitants. In Ron Meyer and Mark Reeder's gripping story, thousands of Bigfoot are poised to combine their knowledge and merge with the first genuine, human-made AGI machine. Over three days, in the primordial forest of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the Bigfoot take an evolutionary leap...

As a poet whose art developed in a remarkably coherent chronological pattern and whose overt use of his own life for the subject matter of his verse was unparalleled in extent, Wordsworth presents an especially compelling claim to such systematic treatment. This volume is the first step toward providing a chronology of his life and works. An invaluable tool for students of this major writer and of the Romantic period generally, this book offers a rapid means of access to factual information for any type of study making use of either the dates or relative order of Wordsworth's writings or personal experiences. Based on unpublished as well as published materials, the main entries of the chronology present items of documented fact together with source references; a separate chronological listing of the writings is also provided. Discussions and arguments are confined to footnotes and appendices.

This book has been written to be a self help book so that the public in general can protect themselves from the worst effects of the next Icelandic volcanic eruptions. We have already seen in March & April of 2010 what a small volcanic eruption did when Eyjafjallajokull blew up and caused chaos over the skies of Europe and North America. This was the least harmful perhaps of all 18 - 25 massive strato volcanoes some of which I believe could erupt in the next 5 years. Ones like Katla which are linked to EJ (short version of Eyjafjallajokull) are about 10 times bigger than EJ. Then there is Laki which erupted in 1783 and 1784 and caused a huge cloud of yellow poison mustard gas to spread over Europe potentially killing about 1 million people and yet no one today knows about this volcano, this is one of the biggest killers the world has ever known possibly killing up to 6 million people worldwide due to its effects upon the Jet stream and Monsoon rains and yet only a handful of Nordic Volcanologists and scientists seem to know about it. My book will educate the public to the dangerous relationship between human civilizations and volcanic eruptions which have profoundly changed the way previous civilizations and historical eras progressed or collapsed as the case may be.

Warning: this book may encourage a series of ungrammatical thoughts! Welcome to the poetic landscape of Mark Truscott, where less is more than you bargained for. Said Like Reeds or Things is a book of micropoetic and linguistic koans. With a quirky, off-centre sense of humour, these poems uncover a language that has malfunctioned only to find itself in the form of a gesture. Minimalist in form, these small gatherings of words, a.k.a. 'poems', seek strangeness in familiar language; their effect is harmonic dissonance within the mind -- like an overturned toy box in your path to the television set, these poems are a fresh and amusing diversion from the everyday from which they are derived. Mysteriously entertaining and precise, these succinct, visual lyrics say as much about the world as they do about their own status as objects for reading, and they persist in the hilarity and contemplation of their own enigmatic possibilities. 'Mark Truscott's Said Like Reeds or Things is the work of a mischievous conservationist with a shadow of Basho in the mix. It's sometimes snappy, sometimes calm, and always an exhilarating tease. This is the place where little pieces of perfection ride along a sublime horizon line.' -- Lisa Jarnot

The Remarkable Career of Jack Reeder: Engineering Test Pilot
NACA/NASA Langley's John P. "Jack" Reeder, one of America's first engineering test pilots, test flew 235 types of aircraft/rotorcraft over a 42-year career. He was also the agency's first true helicopter pilot. His test piloting tally remains unsurpassed by no one in the world. Even more remarkable, Reeder remained humble despite his impressive test piloting accomplishments, something extremely rare in an age where most test pilots tended to be "cocky" and "arrogant". Jack always put his family before his career, another highly admirable trait. Jack would always devote plenty of his spare time to share his test piloting stories with the NASA community as well as the public. The NASA Langley community was deeply saddened when Jack's brilliant life was tragically taken from him by the dreaded "memory thief" disease known as Alzheimer's on May 23, 1999. Learn more about this exceptional, unsung hero of aviation history in Mark A. Chambers' Jack Reeder: Test Pilot.
