At thirty-five, Mika Suzuki's life is a mess. Her last relationship ended in flames. Her roommate-slash-best friend might be a hoarder. She's a perpetual disappointment to her traditional Japanese parents. And, most recently, she's been fired from her latest dead-end job. The details of Mika's life might be an illusion, but everything she shares with curious, headstrong Penny is real: her hopes, dreams, flaws, and Japanese heritage. The harder-won heart belongs to Thomas Calvin, Penny's adoptive widower father. What starts as a rocky, contentious relationship slowly blossoms into a friendship and, over time, something more. But can Mika really have it all--love, her daughter, the life she's always wanted? Or will Mika's deceptions ultimately catch up to her? In the end, Mika must face the truth--about herself, her family, and her past--and answer the question, just who is Mika in real life? Perfect for fans of Rebecca Serle and Jojo Moyes, Mika in Real Life is at once a heart-wrenching and uplifting novel that explores the weight of silence, the secrets we keep, and what it means to be a mother.

for SATB and optional piano This setting of the Latin Missa brevis combines warmth and simple lyricism with youthful verve. It is highly accessible and there is a natural ease to the vocal lines. There are extended passages for SAB, and whilst the sopranos and altos occasionally divide, the tenors and basses are never required to do so. Missa Cantate will appeal to youth and adult choirs as a short concert work, or to church choirs looking for an alternative to more familiar mass settings.
Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo ('Little Organ Mass')
Haydn's Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo dates from c.1775 and was written for the Order of the Brothers of Mercy based in Eisenstadt. The mass is known for its distinctive 'Benedictus', which features elaborate soprano writing and an extensive obbligato organ part from which the work's alternative title, 'Little Organ Mass', derives. This edition includes the elongated 'Gloria' composed by Haydn's younger brother Michael, with Haydn's 31-bar original included as an Appendix. The full score - also available on sale - contains a critical commentary and full details of sources. Complete orchestral material and vocal scores are available on hire/rental.
Missa in Tempore Belli (Mass in Time of War/Paukenmesse)
Haydn's Missa in Tempore Belli was composed in 1796 for SATB chorus and soloists with orchestra. It is one of the finest of the six Hermenegild masses that, together with The Creation and The Seasons, represent the crowning glory of Haydn's final creative period. Although the work was originally written for relatively modest orchestral forces, the wind scoring was expanded when it was performed to great acclaim in Vienna in late 1796. This critical edition by Dr David Russell Hulme is the first to include both the original and Viennese scorings, and the vocal score contains a specially prepared piano reduction that provides a full and practical representation of the instrumental textures and clearly identifies the additional Viennese material. Complete orchestral and vocal material is available on hire/rental, and the vocal score is also available on sale.

for SATB choir, SATB soloists, 3 trombones, 2 violins, bassi, 2 organs Mozart's Missa Brevis was written in 1774 and is divided into six short movements, corresponding to the standard sections of the Mass. Richard Maunder has provided appropriate plainsong intonations for the Gloria and Credo, as well as a playable keyboard reduction, and the work's scoring-for SATB soloists, SATB chorus, and chamber ensemble-and overall compactness make it ideal for performance in a liturgical context as well as in the concert hall. Complete orchestral and vocal material is available on hire/rental, and the full score contains a detailed Preface and Critical Commentary.

for SSA and organ This concise Latin mass setting is entirely suitable for liturgical use, but the sharply delineated characters of the different movements make it also an appealing concert work. The organ part is supportive, but full of interest and not merely accompanimental. Particularly memorable are the jaunty Gloria, with its constantly shifting time-signatures, and the haunting Agnus Dei.

for SATB (with divisions) and organ or chamber ensemble This is an uplifting and celebratory setting of the Latin Missa brevis. The choir may be accompanied by organ, chamber ensemble, or a selection of ensemble instruments in combination with organ, opening up several compelling performance options. Four French carol melodies are woven into the music, and performance with glockenspiel and trumpet bring these particularly to the fore. The chosen carol melodies are often associated with hymns from other Church seasons, making the work suitable for performance throughout the year.
