After examining the Oslo Accord, this research paper defines and characterizes the rejectionist groups Gush Emunim, the Likud Party, and Hamas who represent the radical beliefs and tactics of many rejectionist Groups. Israeli and Palestinian rejectionists, with their beliefs and actions, welcomed the 2002 Bush Administration Roadmap to Peace plan as dead on arrival. Rejectionists pose a major obstacle for the success of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. To jump-start the Oslo Accord or promote any new agreements, leaders on both sides must first neutralize the rejectionist groups. Telling the crucial and under-studied story of the U.S. legal doctrines that underpin the dispossession and domination of Indigenous peoples, this book enhances global Indigenous movements for self-determination.In this wide-ranging historical study of federal Indian law—the field of U.S. law related to Native peoples—attorney and educator Peter P. d'Errico argues that the U.S. government's assertion of absolute prerogative and unlimited authority over Native peoples and their lands is actually a suspension of law.Combining a deep theoretical analysis of the law with a historical examination of its roots in Christian civilization, d'Errico presents a close reading of foundational legal cases and raises the possibility of revoking the doctrine of domination. The book's larger context is the increasing frequency of Indigenous conflicts with nation-states around the world as ecological crises caused by industrial extraction impinge drastically on Indigenous peoples' existences. D'Errico rethinks the role of law in the global order—imagining an Indigenous nomos of the earth, an order arising from peoples and places rather than the existing hegemony of states.

Chronic overconsumption of sugar and fat elevates plasma levels of insulin and free fatty acids, a process referred to as glucolipotoxicity. This phenomenon may lead to heart failure. This issue explores in depth the relationship between glucolipotoxicity and heart failure.
How can an airplane weighing many tons stay aloft for many hours, flying so smoothly that the passengers may feel less like they are moving than they would in a car? The answer, of course, lies in the wings and the air they are moving through, and the study of the flow of air around airplane wings is part of the science of aerodynamics. This book is about aerodynamics in the broadest sense. In addition to airplanes, it discusses the aerodynamics of cars and birds, and the motion of diverse object thorugh air and water. The fundamental notions of mechanics and fluid dynamics -- that is, the basic physics underlying aerodynamics -- are clearly explained. The underlying science is discussed rigorously, but only elementary mathematics is used, and only occasionally. To put the science into its human context, the author describes (with many illustrations) the history of human attempts to fly and discusses the social impact of commercial aviation as well as the outlook for future developments. This book is addressed primarily to readers whose background is not in physics or engineering. It will deepen their knowledge of these fields and add to their appreciation of some exciting recent developements in technology. This new edition has been brought up to date throughout; solutions to selected excercises have been added, as well as new problems and other study aids.

This work chronicles the chess career and games of Grandmaster Isaac Kashdan, one of the leading United States players of the 1930s (along with such notables as Fine and Reshevsky). The main body of the work examines Kashdan's game play, with diagrams and analysis provided for many hundreds of his tournament games, match games, speed games, simultaneous exhibitions, training games and consultation games. Some games are accompanied by detailed contemporary analyses written by Kashdan and other prominent chess masters of his era. There are numerous photographs, as well as facsimiles of correspondence. Also included are tournament crosstables, and indexes of Kashdan's opponents.

Updated Second Edition of the popular men's discipleship and mentoring book. This book is interactive in that throughout the book you will have opportunities to engage with the text through diagnostic questions, study, memory tables, and even Internet research. This interactive study book is designed to provide practical, biblical wisdom that can be applied immediately, and meaningfully passed on from one man to another through discipleship, mentoring, and most importantly, fatherhood. Designed for individual use or within a small group, the goal of this book is to provide interactive practical guidance for everyday life rooted in the classic virtues. So why should you care about the virtues as a man? Do carelessness, fear, gluttony, injustice, uncertainty, despair, and indifference sound like a summary of what plaques the modern male? The virtues are nothing new, in fact, these seven virtues and associated properties or sub-virtues not only trace back to the Bible, but to Aristotle, and Plato. The four cardinal virtues of prudence, fortitude, justice, and temperance are part of natural law and written on the heart of every man, whereas the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity are infused by the Holy Spirit into the heart of every disciple of Christ. The theological virtues give the cardinal virtues power as faith provides the motivation, charity the implementation, and hope the destination. Man's Ultimate Challenge will equip you to live as men of: (1) FORTITUDE and not FEAR; (2) PRUDENCE and not CARELESSNESS; (3) TEMPERANCE and not GLUTTONY; (4) JUSTICE and not INJUSTICE; (5) FAITH and not UNCERTAINTY; (6) HOPE and not DESPAIR; (7) CHARITY and not INDIFFERENCE. In the end, I hope you feel equipped, challenged, and encouraged to be the man God called you to be. This edition includes updated diagrams, mile markers to break up the book into 25 in-depth studies, and identity spread throughout the book instead of one deep chapter. Men loved the diagrams that visualized the concepts, so I updated some to provide more clarity while adding new ones. Additionally, questions are spread out in the book for small groups so that you do not have to buy yet another book.

A telephone call to Ukraine from the Oval Office brought Ukraine to the forefront of the American public in 2019. Although international condemnation and sanctions plague Russian adventurism in Ukraine, Putin retains Donbass and Crimea, threatening to take more. Can President Biden prevent an unfolding tragedy? How should the West (and specifically the United States) respond to support Ukraine democratic capitalism and why? This book provides a historical review of the Ukraine experience, illuminates challenges and opportunities and a summary of the current scandal, but (perhaps more importantly) emphasizes the importance of Ukraine independence in the context of European security moving forward.
