Grammar in Use Intermediate (Japanese Edition) is a bilingual (English / Japanese) edition of Grammar in Use Intermediate (With Answers) Second Edition (052162598x) targeted at learners in Japan whose mother tongue is Japanese and whose command of English is relatively weak. The classic In Use format remains, with explanation and examples on the left page followed by exercises on the right. As in the monolingual edition, there are six Appendices, Additional Exercises, a Study Guide and Answer Key. In the Japanese Edition, grammatical explanation and terminology as well as selected example sentences (or parts of sentences) are translated on the left page. On the right page, exercise instuctions are translated. There is a modest amount of content adaptation, typically consisting of additional explanation or examples for grammar which is identified as a weak spot for Japanese learners. As the book is for sale in in the locally-produced EFL materials section of Japanese bookstores, the dimensions of the book have been reduced. The extent remains the same as in the original. The Japanese Edition does not contain a CD.

Risk runs through the fabric of any project. It is so intimately bound up in forecasting and decision making that it cannot be isolated or handled separately from other project management activities. Success can only be achieved if risk management is integrated closely with project management. Over the past decade, developments in risk management methods and standards have addressed the need to manage risk in a project in an integrated manner. This is a more natural way of working than past practices have been. It has beneficial effects on the practice of risk management and the way it is implemented in projects. This new edition of Project Risk Management Guidelines has been fully updated to include the new international standards that embody this principle, ISO 31000 Risk management and IEC 62198 Managing risk in projects. The book explains the standards and how they can be applied. It provides a clear introduction to basic project risk management, introduces the reader to specialized areas of projects and procurement, and shows how quantitative risk analysis methods can be used in large projects. Chapter by chapter, the authors present simple, practical steps and illustrate them with examples drawn from their extensive experience from around the world, in many different industry sectors and cultures and at all stages of projects from conception through development and into execution. Qualitative and quantitative approaches are covered. Traditional structures and processes are discussed as well as developments in the way projects are conducted, such as outsourcing arrangements and risk-sharing structures like public–private partnerships. Improved outcomes can be achieved when sound risk management is used to capture opportunities and reduce threats. Its unique focus and wealth of checklists, tables and other resources make this book an essential and enduring tool for anyone involved with project work.

First African Baptist Church has served the Richmond community since 1780, proving to be a pillar of strength for African Americans in the former Confederate capital. The First African Baptist Church congregation endured slavery, the tumultuous years of the Civil War, Reconstruction, and repression from the white supremacist regime that dominated Virginia politics and persevered as a vibrant force through civil rights struggle and the daunting challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. Such notables as Lott Carey, L. Douglas Wilder, Maggie Lena Walker, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, Mary Lumpkin, and Henry "Box" Brown were church members.

In May of 1863, twenty year old William Blount, a reluctant Confederate corporal, carries messages between the camps of the divided Confederate army outside Vicksburg. He marvels at the generals - some brilliant, some brats - and how often they ignore the orders he delivers. Riding alone he crosses desperate soldiers, brave civilians, and a woman he cannot forget. A century later, a hard-working black community fights its own battles in the same vicinity. A striking young mother runs afoul of one of the most powerful men in Jackson and once again casualties mount near Raymond, Mississippi.
