Die Beitr ge in diesem Band gehen dieser Frage von der Jenaer Ph nomenologie des Geistes von 1807 aus ber die Rechtsphilosophie von 1820 bis hin zur Enzyklop die von 1830 nach. Eines der Grundmotive des hegelschen Werkes liegt in seinem Gedanken eines Bed rfnisses der Philosophie, welches entsteht, wenn die Einheit aus dem Leben der Menschen verschwindet. Diese Einsicht Hegels ist in verschiedenen Kontexten seines Gesamtwerkes erkennbar und verleiht ihm thematische Kontinuit t. Der grundlegende Ansatz der hier vorgelegten Interpretation besteht in dem Nachweis, dass Hegel eine umfassende sowie systematisch und ph nomenologisch differenzierte Konzeption der praktischen Individualit t ausgearbeitet hat. Zwei berlegungen haben zu der in diesem Band vorgelegten Deutung gef hrt. Die erste geht von methodologischen berlegungen aus: Hegel selbst verortet das Wesentliche der Dialektik nicht nur in ihrem Beitrag zur Architektonik seines Systems, sondern betont auch ihre Funktion f r die flexible Strukturierung und Konfiguration der Gestalten des Geistes. In diesem Kontext l sst sich seine Auffassung der Individualit t rekonstruieren und im Spannungsfeld der von ihm explizierten Ph nomene plausibel machen. Die zweite grundlegende berlegung nimmt von Hegels Deutung der Moderne ihren Ausgangspunkt: Die subjektive Freiheit als h chstes Prinzip der 'neueren Zeit und Welt' stellt eine systemimmanente Komponente seiner Auffassung der praktischen Individualit t dar.
