From the author of Tell Me Lies and Too Good to Be True comes Carola Lovering's Can't Look Away, a sexy suspense novel about the kind of addictive, obsessive love that keeps you coming back--no matter how hard you try to look away. In 2013, twenty-three-year old Molly Diamond is a barista, dreaming of becoming a writer. One night at a concert in Brooklyn, she locks eyes with the lead singer, Jake Danner, and can't look away. Molly and Jake fall quickly and deeply in love, especially after he writes a hit song about her that puts his band on the map. Nearly a decade later, Molly has given up writing and is living in Flynn Cove, Connecticut with her young daughter and her husband Hunter--who is decidedly not Jake Danner. Their life looks picture-perfect, but Molly is lonely; she feels out of place with the other women in their wealthy suburb, and is struggling to conceive their second child. When Sabrina, a newcomer in town, walks into the yoga studio where Molly teaches and confesses her own fertility struggles, Molly believes she's finally found a friend. But Sabrina has her own reasons for moving to Flynn Cove and befriending Molly. And as Sabrina's secrets are slowly unspooled, her connection to Molly becomes clearer--as do secrets of Molly's own, which she's worked hard to keep buried. Meanwhile, a new version of Jake's hit song is on the radio, forcing Molly to confront her past and ask the ultimate questions: What happens when life turns out nothing like we thought it would, when we were young and dreaming big? Does growing up mean choosing with your head, rather than your heart? And do we ever truly get over our first love?

New York Times bestselling author Linda Lael Miller turns up the heat in this sizzling tale of suspense and rekindled passions set against the blazing skies of Arizona's lush desert landscape—where a killer is determined to exact his revenge. When hard-working attorney Clare Westbrook learns that her ambulance-chasing boss has been murdered, she's shocked—but not exactly surprised. Harvey Kredd was known for his less-than-ethical business dealings, and even his acts of generosity were tinged with greed; Clare, working at Kredd and Associates to pay off the law school loan Harvey had granted her several years before, knows she's got no choice: indentured servitude, twenty-first-century style. But Harvey's death doesn't let Clare out of her contract with the firm; instead it brings her a new, odious multimillionaire client, and Tony Sonterra—homicide detective and local heartthrob—who's not above using a murder investigation to get back into Clare's life. Jump-starting her affair with Tony is the last thing Clare needs—she's got enough on her plate raising her niece, Emma, without throwing a bull-headed cop into the mix. Then Clare gets the news that may convince her Tony is exactly what she needs: Emma's father has been released from prison, and he's intent on seeing his daughter. Though she could never persuade the police to believe her, Clare is convinced that James Arren murdered her sister. Clare is determined to find evidence that will put James Arren away for good, but Tony is just as determined to keep her safe after another murder—clearly meant to target Clare—rocks the law firm. With no real leads, too many suspects, and a growing chain of menacing violence, Clare finds that teaming up with the devil she knows is her only option—one that's just too attractive to resist. With the same rich storytelling style that has captivated readers worldwide, Linda Lael Miller delivers a page-turning blend of heated passion and captivating suspense.

'Harry Leslie Smith is a vital and powerful voice speaking across generations about the struggle for a just society' Jeremy CorbynTHIS A CALL TO ARMS FOR THE MANY, NOT THE FEW: DON'T LET THE PAST BECOME OUR FUTURE Harry Leslie Smith is a great British stalwart. A survivor of the Great Depression, a Second World War veteran, a lifelong Labour supporter and a proud Yorkshire man, Harry's life has straddled two centuries. As a young man, he witnessed a country in crisis with no healthcare, no relief for the poor, and a huge economic gulf between the North and South. Now in his nineties, Harry wanders through the streets of his youth and wonders whether anything has actually changed.Britain is at its most dangerous juncture since Harry's youth - the NHS and social housing are in crisis, whilst Brexit and an unpopular government continue to divide the country - but there is hope. Just as Clement Attlee provided hope in 1945, Labour's triumphant comeback of June 2017 is a beacon of light in this season of discontent. Britain has overcome adversity before and will do so again - a new nation will be forged from the ashes of grave injustice.Moving and passionate, Don't Let My Past be Your Future interweaves memoir and polemic in a call to arms. Above all, this book is a homage to the boundless grace and resilience of the human spirit.

This is not the typical feel good story one may be used to reading in these types of motivational memoirs. It's not about some exceptional black kid from the ghetto who resisted the negative trappings of his environment and goes on to do good and makes his whole community proud. On the contrary, this is an example of someone who gave into the temptations of the streets, made some terrible choices along the way, and paid an enormous price for it. The silver lining to his story is Lamontt made the decision to turn his life around and to do so regardless of his past. Lamontt overcame a broken family, poverty, gang violence, drugs, and prison, in order to begin his journey to become a good father, a good citizen, and ultimately an attorney. When it's all said and done, Lamontt's story is about forgiveness, determination, and perseverance. He is the quintessential example of someone who refused to allow his past to hold him back.
