This is a fully-illustrated children's book written by a retired school teacher, Ruth Chornock. Based on her own cherished moments with her young daughter, Ruth captures the joys of motherhood in this storybook. This book is a slice of the life of a mother and daughter. It begins with the mother waking her young daughter up for a trip to the beach and slowly progresses through the quiet adventures of shell hunting early in the morning. The book peaks at mid-day describing the bustling beach and finishes with the humor and emotion of the daughter, Wendy. The illustrations breathe life to Ruth's words by creating visual emotion. Illustrations were hand painted with watercolor and ink by the artist and scientist, Katie Sokolowski PhD, DABT.Ruth has a passion for teaching young children through her stories and adores the stages of motherhood, which is often the subject of her stories. The dozens of stories written by Ruth in her 80s and 90s are now being published with the efforts of her daughter and editor, Wendy Streight, PhD. Wendy is an accomplished scientist and business women who owned her own children's furniture stores with her husband. Wendy discovered the illustrator, Katie, through work-related functions. Katie is educated as a neuroscientist and toxicologist, but has always maintained artistic talents. After reading Ruth's stories, Katie saw the emotion and nostalgia in the stories that inspired the full page illustrations in this book.
