This book is a journal spanning three decades, 1964-1998, and more. It is also a series of essays written during that period. Essentially, it traces one individual's development as a person. Para Pep n, que hab a perdido compa eros en plena juventud por una causa traicionada, ese sentimiento aferrado en el ideario cubano, de que morir por la patria es vivir, es absurdo. El llamado nacional debe ser vivir una vida larga y fecunda luchando en vida por el bienestar de todos los cubanos. Antes de su fallecimiento escribe este libro de sus memorias que l describe como un fren tico esfuerzo para dejar plasmado el pasado que quiere que el presente no borre .
