Kasha was a beautiful and talented young woman from Poland who once had everything to live for; but she threw it all away soon after moving to Las Vegas on a student VISA. In her desperate pursuit to find herself, and in her failed attempts to be rid of her childhood demons, she became addicted to drugs and suicidal. But it was her selfish acts of betrayal to the men who loved her, that had cast her into the darkest and most haunting depths of society. Although no one thought she would, somehow she had managed to survive . . . but just barely. This is a tale of two families spanning three generations - from WWII Europe, to the casinos of Las Vegas, to Bill Gates' headquarters at One Microsoft Way. (This story is based on a true story.) ======================================================================================== See the new book trailer at YouTube Kasha was a beautiful and talented young woman from Poland who once had everything to live for; but she threw it all away soon after moving to Las Vegas on a student VISA. I wrote the first draft of this book in 2004. Afterwards I copied it from my computer onto a CD and had it printed at Kinkos. My mom was my proof-reader. I was very proud back then because after she read the first draft, she said, "Bud, I think you might have something here." But it was never published until 2011. Sadly, afterwards, she passed away. She never read the final version. Rest in peace dear mom, I will always love you. I am heartbroken that we didn't say goodbye.
The Quantum Gateway: Awakening at the Intersection of Science and Religion

The Quantum Gateway: Awakening at the Intersection of Science and Religion

The wise give us clues. The frightened sell us religion. Fortunately, mystics in all spiritual traditions have given us many wonderful clues over the centuries. And now we have had one hundred years of quantum physics to measure the accuracy of those clues. Our body tells us we are mortal and shall die in the mud with our fellow pigs. Yet our intuition tells us that we are immortal and will somehow survive death. Well, which is it? Today thoughtful answers to important questions like these are not coming from the pulpit, but from new research in quantum physics. Our objective reality in space-time is a fiction; it does not really exist. Our local perception of separateness is, in the deepest sense, an illusion, and all individual entities like you and me are mere extensions of the quantum potential. Yes, the world is not what it appears to be. One true goal of a spiritual quest is to shake off the ignorance of the deep feelings of separateness and awaken to the reality of the unity of all things. There is nothing in our experience to indicate that water is two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. There is nothing in our experience to indicate that the earth is rotating and the sun is does not really move across the sky. Similarly, there is nothing in our experience to indicate that we are all essentially One Consciousness beyond time and space and our impressions of being individual and separate are without foundation. There has been no effort to make this a popular book, only a true one. And if the sincere truth seeker can take one or two useful clues from this writing, then I will feel satisfied. Dr. Hollowell and his former co-author LaVedi Lafferty wrote a 500 page book on reincarnation in 1985 called The Eternal Dance which placed them in "People of Ideas in the Second Half of the Twentieth Century: The Philosophers". Other awards by the author: The Peace & Freedom Citation from the Alaska State Ecumenical Council for leadership with Chinese students after the 1989 Beijing Massacre, and a 2005 Faculty of the Year recognition by the University of Phoenix campus in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Why I Hate Republicans: And the Fox News Channel

At the height of the Great Depression in 1933 nearly 25% of the U.S. work force was unemployed (almost 13 million people). Today in 2011 nearly 10% of the U.S. work force is unemployed (over 14 million people), and another 14 million are trying to survive on part-time low-paying jobs. They're called the "under-employed". Millions aren't even included in the (U-3) unemployment rate. We have approximately 16% of the "participating work force" that are jobless in America. Millions more are trying to survive on no income at all. By the end of this year there could be almost 10 million desperate Americans struggling to pay their rent. They're called the "99ers" (or exhaustees"), those who have exhausted all their unemployment benefits. Now the Republicans have been busy trying to cut or reduce unemployment benefits, food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security...and they couldn't wait...it had to be done right now...in the middle of The Great Recession, with so many people out of work. So then, how will the 99ers survive? After the economy tanked in 2008, I was laid off from my job and never found gainful employment again. And like most other "conservative Republicans" (such as Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly), I too had blamed the Democrats - - - and then later, Obama. Of course, back then I would have blamed Obama for my headache, not realizing at the time that it was the constant ranting and raving on Fox News that was giving me my headache. The Republicans today (especially the radical Tea Party "Patriots") aren't "uniters", but dividers - - - and they are ripping this nation apart., doing the exact opposite of what Lincoln would do. The Tea Party today reminds me more of the old Southern Dixicrats. And it's become all too apparent to anyone in 2011 that ALL the Republicans only represent the very wealthy and the largest of multi-national corporations, not the common citizen - the small business owner or worker. Democrats represent real people. I finally opened my eyes after 30 years of being a Republican. For ten years I too once watched Fox News and also believed everything they told me. The title of this book doesn't refer to ALL Republican voters, but primarily to the GOP leadership and their enablers. As for the book's cover, many people might think it depicts my rage and murderous desires to kill Republicans. But after reading the book, you decide who's stabbing who in the back. The title of the painting is aptly named "Treachery", and it is apropos in that I had felt totally betrayed by the political party I once affiliated with. And it common knowledge that Fox News promotes the Republican's agenda (and their presidential candidates), and is NOT a genuine "news" channel, just because sometimes they report the news, sports, and weather. The day that Glenn Beck accused me of being a socialist and un-American, and of just wanting a government hand-out, was the very last straw for me. It was then that I had had enough of him, the Republicans, Fox News, and the Tea Party. I've learned that after being a devout Republican all my working life, it wasn't the Democrats, but the Republicans who had been destroying the middle-class and this economy...and they almost destroyed me too. That's why I hate Republicans and the Fox News Channel.

The early American West was filled with opportunities. There was mining, timber and an endless amont of land for ranching and farming. Many made the long arduous journey to share in these opportunities. Unfortunately not everyone that made the trek was looking to start a new life within the paramaters of the law, but instead preyed upon the weak the naive and the unsuspecting. Jack McCracken, also known as Lucky Jack was one such person. He and his gang of cutthroats were ruthless and cruel with a singular objective, taking what belonged to others. They pursued this goal without regard for anything including the law or human life. There were those however that reconginzed these miscreants for what they were and worked tirelessly to thwart their pursuits. Ike Coley and Hank Wagner were two such men. Without regard for the consequences they embarked upon a mission that took them on a journey throughout the central plains and the Indian territories. They doggedly pursued their goal at great personal cost. This is a chronicle of the journey that would later become known as, "The Track of Lucky Jack".

Although the American Revolution ended in 1783, tensions between the United States and Britain over disruptions to American trade, the impressment of American merchant sailors by British ships, and British support of Native American resistance to American expansion erupted in another military conflict nearly three decades later. Scarcely remembered in England today, the War of 1812 stood as a veritable "second war of independence" to the victorious Americans and ushered in an extended period of peaceful relations and trade between the United States and Britain. This major reference work offers a comprehensive day-by-day chronology of the War of 1812, including its slow build-up and aftermath, and provides detailed biographies of the generals who made their marks.

From forts to blockhouses, garrison houses to trading posts, stations to presidios, missions to ranches and towns, this work provides a history of the primary fortifications established during 400 tumultuous years in what would become the United States of America. Under each state's heading, this substantial volume contains alphabetized entries with information regarding each structure's history. The earliest forts established by the Danes, Dutch, English, French, Portuguese, Swedes and Mexicans and by the temporary appearance of the Russians are listed. The colonial American forts, many of which were previously established by the European powers, are covered in detail. Beginning with the American Revolution, each of the American military fortifications, militia forts, settlers' forts and blockhouses is listed and described. Helpful appendices list Civil War defenses (and military hospitals) of Washington, D.C.; Florida Seminole Indian war forts; Pony Express depots; Spanish missions and presidios; and twentieth-century U.S. forts, posts, bases, and stations. A chronology of conflicts that paralleled the growth of the United States is also provided, offering insight into the historical context of fort construction.

From the Battle of Lexington and Concord on 19 April, 1775, up through the reduction of the victorious Continental Army to a single regiment in January 1784, this book is a day-to-day chronicle of the American Revolution, both on the battlefield and in the halls of the Continental Congress. Covered in detail are the movements of not only the Continental Army and Navy, but the Marines--not covered comprehensively in other sources--and the militia. Information on the actions of Congress highlights each day's business, including the resolutions pertinent to the war. Drawing on such vital primary documents as the Journals of the Continental Congress and the Diplomatic Correspondence of the American Revolution, the book offers a close-up view of the political and military tension of the time, the perilous situation of the colonists, and the concerns of the soldiers and sailors immersed in battle. It also provides insight into the moves and counter-moves of British and American forces as intelligence flowed in both directions to influence the course of combat. All military campaigns of the revolution, from Canada to Florida and Louisiana, are included. The result is unmatched coverage of the battles, both military and legislative, that gave birth to America.
