Little in zahlreichen Bera- tungsprojekten fUr Untemehmen in der chemischen Industrie, im Maschi- nenbau, in der Automobil-und Zulieferindustrie und in der Elektronik beob- achtet, daB es nicht viel niitzt, Produkte schneller zu entwickeln, wenn sie nicht technisch iiberlegen und strikt bedarfsgerecht sind. Diese Beobachtung ist der Ausgangspunkt dieses Buches. Das wirkungsvolle Management der F&E-Strategie setzt drei Erkenntnisse voraus: - daB es eine F&E-Strategie gibt, die mit der Untemehmensstrategie in Ubereinstimmung stehen muB (auf der Basis eines wechselseitigen Ab- stimmungsprozesses ), - daB die Verfolgung einer F&E-Strategie eine neue Form des F&E- Managements erfordert (in diesem Buch als die dritte Generation des F&E-Managements charakterisiert) und - daB es Steuerungsparameter gibt, nach denen der Mitteleinsatz fiir F&E lihnlich optimiert werden kann wie fUr Investitionen in anderen Berei- chen des Untemehmens.
