Penned from one young preacher, to others, all preachers will appreciate the wisdom of Reflections for the Call. Written as a devotional, the book uses practical truths and relevant scriptures to help reconfirm the assignments of those in ministry. When read with fidelity, it will reignite the passion of not just young preachers, but anyone with a public ministry call on their life. As they advance through the pages, readers will find thirty timeless admonitions that every minister-especially young ministers-should embrace. Each devotion begins with a scriptural lesson and an easy-to-understand reflection on an important lesson for ministry. Each of the reflections includes sound exegesis of the scriptural reference, and is completed with a prayer that the reader can use at that very moment. From the Foreword: "One of the most impactful tools for young preachers is peer mentoring and peer empowerment, as 'Iron sharpens iron' (Proverbs 27:17). Many younger pastors, preachers, and leaders consistently reach out to me asking for mentorship. I am always excited to share my stories, journey, failures, successes, experiences, and principles to live by. Also, there are always inquiries about books and articles for a young leader I may recommend. Added to that list of recommended books is this devotional." - Pastor Linwood Dillard, Citadel of Deliverance Church, Memphis, TN.According to Dr. Marsha Brown Woodard of Palmer Theological Seminary, "These devotions...will speak to young preachers, and still be of benefit to more seasoned preachers as they seek to be faithful to God's call on their lives."There are plenty of preaching books, but few are designed with the young minister in mind. Kyle Boyer has written a work that combines theology and practicality to offer a great guidebook tor anyone seeking to be faithful to their God-given assignments.

High in the eastern Himalayan foothills, people had a unique vantage point on the British Empire. The Mizo Discovery of the British Raj presents a history of Mizoram in Northeast India told from historical Indigenous perspectives of encounters with empire from the 1890s to the 1920s. Based on a wide range of research and enriched by sources newly digitised by the author through the British Library's Endangered Archives Programme, Kyle Jackson sheds new light on the complex and violent processes of how and why diverse populations of highland clans in the Indo-Burmese borderlands came to rede?ne themselves as Christian Mizos. By using historical Indigenous concepts and logics to approach early twentieth-century imperial encounters, Jackson guides readers into a decolonial history of Northeast India, demonstrating the value of thinking not just about the histories of colonized peoples and concepts but also with them.

What is moral heroism? In this book, Kyle Fruh criticizes virtue-centric answers to this question and builds a compelling alternative theoretical view: moral heroism without virtue. Drawing on real-world examples, psychology, and moral philosophy both ancient and contemporary, he argues that in fact the central achievement of moral heroes is the performance of high-stakes sacrifices, so that moral heroism is clearly not a sign of rare moral attainment among an enlightened few, but is instead something enacted by all sorts of people from all walks of life. He also looks at the question of how we respond to moral heroism, both by honoring it and by recruiting it to our efforts at moral improvement and moral education. His book is for anyone interested in moral excellence, the long philosophical traditions which examine it, and contemporary discussions of morally outstanding actions and agents.
