De toutes les controverses qui jalonnent l'histoire de la pensee chinoise, la " Querelle de Zhu Xi et Lu Jiuyuan " est sans doute l'une des plus marquantes et assurement la plus celebre pour ce qui concerne l'epoque imperiale. L'episode met aux prises deux penseurs considerables, a la fois lettres exemplaires et figures majeures du renouveau confuceen des Song (960-1279), dont la rivalite de chefs d'ecole culmine a la fin des annees 1180 au cours de l'echange de lettres presente dans ce volume. Si l'affrontement se focalise sur la question du " Faite supreme " (Taiji), notion metaphysique associee au Yin-Yang dont la reformulation par Zhu Xi est contestee par Lu Jiuyuan, le debat touche egalement a des conceptions divergentes de la lignee confuceenne, tout en revelant des approches sensiblement differentes de l'hermeneutique et de la pratique lettrees. Diffuse des son epoque dans les cercles de disciples, puis medite par des generations de lettres, cet ensemble epistolaire nous est donne ici a lire pour la premiere fois en francais, dans une traduction integrale qui en restitue la dynamique et la teneur, entre estime reciproque et critiques incisives. On y accede de plain-pied a ce que pouvait etre un debat philosophique dans la Chine premoderne: une forme de sociabilite raffinee, ou le questionnement sur la realite ultime est inseparable d'un art de lire les textes, et ou l'ascendant intellectuel se conquiert aussi bien dans le jeu de l'argumentation que dans l'affirmation de styles d'etudes antagoniques.

Th ng 8/2014, thầy Nhất Hạnh cho lưu h nh một "bản dịch mới" của T m kinh B t-nh , k m theo l một l thư của thầy gửi cho c c đệ tử (nhưng lưu h nh rộng khắp mạng Internet) giải th ch về "L do tại sao phải dịch lại T m kinh." Những ph ph n của thầy đối với bản dịch cũ l "đ g y ra nhiều hiểu lầm qua c c thời đại" cũng như đối với nhiều bậc Thầy Tổ, đ khiến cho một số kh ng t Phật tử phải hoang mang v c phần ảnh hưởng đến niềm tin. Th ng 11/2014, t i viết b i "C n n dịch lại T m kinh hay kh ng?" đăng tr n Thư viện Hoa Sen để giải tỏa phần n o những hoang mang cho nhiều Phật tử, nhất l c c Phật tử trẻ. Ngay sau khi đăng tải trong v ng 24 giờ, b i viết đạt hơn 2.000 lượt xem v theo anh T m Diệu, Trưởng Ban Bi n Tập Thư viện Hoa Sen th đ y l một "kỷ lục chưa từng c ." Điều n y thể hiện sự quan t m rộng r i của đa số Phật tử đối với vấn đề n y. Th ng 3/2016, Jayarava viết b i ph ph n "bản dịch mới" n y, c kh nhiều tưởng tương đồng với b i viết của t i trước đ y, nhưng k m theo đ c nhiều dẫn chứng so s nh từ thủ bản Sanskrit để chỉ ra th m rất nhiều sai lệch kh c. B i viết của Jayarava bằng Anh ngữ, đ được ch ng t i Việt dịch v sẽ được in k m theo nguy n t c. Sau khi chuyển dịch b i viết của Jayarava, ch ng t i nhận thấy c nhiều bất ổn trong quan điểm của b i viết n y. Một số nhận x t của Jayarava trong chừng mực n o đ vẫn kh ng tr nh khỏi phần chủ quan cũng như nghi ng về mặt l luận văn bản học nhiều hơn l sự trực nhận của một người Phật tử. Do đ , việc đăng tải b i viết của Jayarava chỉ nhằm mục đ ch mở rộng sự tham khảo cho độc giả, c n việc c chấp nhận những quan điểm của ng hay kh ng l t y sự ph n x t của độc giả.
