The Formatrix Criterion Paradigm (to be edited, but good for now as a supplemental work) is a Bible-based concept and method for studying and putting into daily practice the seven creation stewardship-oriented teaching commands of Jesus Christ: Implicit to which guidelines are seven universal resources of which we are each commonly capable of stewarding but with which we are not equally endowed at birth, warranting the practice of charity-motivated, complementary interdependence whereby we can more viably manifest our faith in Christ as a means to evangelizing the nations. The Criterion serves as a multi-dimensional means for providing insights into evangelartly facilitating, manifesting and fulfilling the "mystery of Christ" in the service of God and the eternally common good of all. (It is a work which I need to edit to integrate new inspirational aspects which I have realized in only the past few years.)

Trevor Sansing and his crew, of mostly young adults aboard the living ship they call Mary, have returned to the world they've named "Destiny". Humanity is on the brink of extinction with only the Israeli population and small pockets elsewhere that have managed to survive the onslaught of the Asunimi on Earth. On Destiny, man's survival has always been tenuous at best. Unexpected events on Earth had unnerved them all. Now, Trevor and his friends, only want a little R&R and are looking forward to some down time. For Trevor's friends, Destiny is home. More and more, Trevor realizes that for him and his daughter, Sarah, Destiny has become "home" as well. However, as soon as they arrive, Mary receives a telepathic message from one of her companion ships. The message is simple, but Trevor is sure it can't be right. It states simply, "WE HAVE FOUND GOD".

The ability to completely analyze an occupation, activity, or task is a fundamental skill of the occupational therapy practitioner. Task analysis, the process of analyzing the dynamic relation among a client, a selected task, and specific contexts, is a critical clinical reasoning tool for evaluating occupational performance. This new edition of this foundational text guides occupational therapy practitioners in using task analysis to understand clients and their ability to perform specific, purposeful activities. Aligned with the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework, Task Analysis expands the understanding of clients to include individuals, groups, and populations and how task analysis applies to each. Occupational therapy practitioners increasingly serve clients at the group and population levels, which is reflected in updated chapters. This edition aims to provide students and practitioners with a clear understanding of how task analysis applies to everyday occupational therapy practice. Each chapter contains assignments to challenge students and readers and to promote learning, and case examples promote real-world application. An extensive Client Profile and Task Analysis Form provides a template for the clinical world, and examples of its use are included throughout the text. A flash drive contains the form, assignments, case examples, and AOTA official documents.

• What is addiction?• How do you know if someone is addicted?• Are some people more prone to addiction than others?• Are some drugs more addictive than others?• How can you help someone who doesn't want help? Understanding Drugs of Abuse is designed to bring the everyday reader face-to-face with drugs of abuse and addiction. Through frank, no-nonsense explanations of the stimulants, depressants, psychedelics, and inhalants, this accessible guide will help the reader to understand how drugs of abuse affect thinking, behavior, perceptions, and emotions. It also examines the effects addiction has on the addict's family. Understanding Drugs of Abuse demystifies the treatment process by explaining what types of treatment are available, what actually happens during treatment, and what patients and their families can expect during the treatment process. The book also describes the recovery process and will help people identify good recovery—as well as recognize poor recovery and the warning signs of relapse. Perhaps most important, Understanding Drugs of Abuse explains how friends and family can intervene when someone they love does not want help. Because the use of prescribed medications by people with substance use disorders can be misunderstood or even be dangerous, this book presents practical information about medications and recovery. It also explores the unique problems of adolescents who are addicted, as well as people with the dual disorders of a psychiatric and substance use disorder. Understanding Drugs of Abuse will also help the reader understand the role of genetics and other influences on addiction to alcohol, the most widely abused drug of all.

As adults, we like to think we have a good idea of what the world may have in store for our teenagers, but the fact of the matter is there's a vast divide between what we perceive as dangerous and what our teens are actually up against. Teenagers (ages 13 - 19) face unique challenges when it comes to situational awareness. These challenges are only exacerbated by the constant physical and biological changes teens are subjected to. As young people learn to deal with these changes, they begin to explore the limits of their individuality. Unfortunately, this process often involves rebellious behavior and unnecessary risk-taking. The key to keeping teens safe during this time is to keep them alert and engaged with their environment. Teenagers have to understand that real personal safety isn't about being scared of what lies around the next corner. It requires confidence that if something bad were about to happen, that they have these skills: Ability to identify the problem earlyCompetence to develop a plan of actionPower to control their fearAptitude to implement that plan Spotting Danger Before It Spots Your Teens is designed around the principles of positive communication, trust, and teamwork. It’s written specifically to set parents' minds at ease and allow teens to confidently explore their independence, secure in the fact that they can spot dangerous situations before they happen and take the necessary steps to ensure their own well-being.
