Once upon a Life in Time, in Spirit, and Flesh is LuCretia Crump's inspirational and heartfelt offering to those of us on the ever-evolving and challenging journey of life. Writing from her own struggles, experiences, and insights, Crump has compiled a beautiful and evocative collection of verse for those struggling with life, love, loss, and self-worth. These pieces are eloquently woven together in an honest and full-color story of the human experience-a story of triumph by way of positive transformation, self-healing, patience, and understanding. It's a beacon in the night for those who have, at one point or another, given up hope, lost their way, lost their voice, lost a loved one, or just need a gentle reminder of their blessings and how grateful they should be. Once upon a Life in Time, in Spirit, and Flesh offers readers the opportunity for a renewed sense of optimism and inspiration, helping you find your way and nourishing your soul a spirit.
Sometimes life can seem unfulfilling, boring, or uncertain, especially for today's busy women. As we rush from one destination to the next, women may be internally struggling with several issues that include physical changes, dead-end careers, or unhealthy relationships. The good news is that women have the power within to incorporate positive changes that transform their lives. Lucretia D. Coleman relies on her experiences as a visual artist and certified integrative wellness coach to help women easily discover, embrace, and express the positive vibrancy of their daily mess. Along with candid anecdotes that reveal her own personal struggles and triumphs, Coleman utilizes tips, affirmations, and reflections to guide women on an introspective journey through spirit, mind, body, relationships, and career. On the journey, women learn how to create reality through faith, replace self-doubt with self-confidence, improve interactions with others, and create viable professional and personal options.
Teen pop is a sub-genre of popular music marketed to tweens and teens. Its melodic yearning and veneer of sincerity appeal to an emerging romantic eroticism and autonomy. But tweens and teens buy music that isn’t primarily marketed to them, too. Teen pop encompasses several kinds of musical styles, not limiting itself to just one—teen pop wants to play.During the 1970s, teen pop sometimes worked subversively, challenging the status quo it seemed to represent. Male pop stars such as David Cassidy were shown suggestively in popular magazines and female pop stars such as Cher had their own TV shows. Teen magazines, pin-ups, comics, films, and TV programs provided luscious visual stereo, promoting fashion styles, lingo, and dance moves, signaling individual identity but also community. The music provided a way for young people to believe they had something all their own, an authenticity experimenting with sexuality and social conduct, all dressed up in glitter and satin, blue jeans and boom boxes, torn fishnets and safety pins and, magically, their dreams. Cartoon pop and made-for-TV bands! Bubblegum pop! Glam! Hip hop! Hard rock and pop rock and stadium rock! Punk! Disco! Teen pop reinforced aspects of the counterculture it absorbed as the music kept playing—and playing back.Although it’s very difficult to attain and maintain social progress and play it forward—there are so many tragedies—'70s Teen Pop examines how liberation and a true counterculture can be possible through music.

What happens when an intrepid and resourceful sixty-something woman decides in 1953 that a long driving trip, touring the newly opened Pan American Highway in South America, would be just the thing her ailing husband needs? Follow the Donnells in this page turning, true yarn as recorded by Lucretia Donnell in her letters. Robbed, stuck in the mud, marooned with car troubles, with very little Spanish speaking ability, these resourceful love birds travel from Puerto Rico in June, 1953 and end up in Rio in late November without the benefit of the Internet, cellular phone and guide or driver services. Much like today's backpackers, the undaunted Dallas couple relied on directions from friendly locals often scribbled on scraps of paper, their printed maps proving to be not the most reliable sources. Along the way, Lucretia, a respected Texas artist, sketched as Earl, a cattle and dairyman, admired the livestock he saw. Snug in their 1951 Cadillac sedan, Earl and Lucretia revel in the beauty of the land and the wonders of its culture, ultimately discovering what ties the world together into one people. Magical and compelling, Adventures on the Pan American Highway of South America is an inspiring and spirited true story.
Talent, long study, and much hard work produce great art, ordinarily the work of a single person. On the other hand, elements of greatness sometimes find each other, meld, and produce beauty greater than the sum of the parts. So it is with Winged Clouds and Cobalt Skies. Three artists, Frank Reaugh, Lucretia Donnell, and her mother Lucretia, united their talents to do what all great art does: enrich the culture and the lives of others. From 1889 until 1941 Frank Reaugh routinely sketch-tripped the vast and then wild land in the High Plains of Texas and occasionally beyond. In 1905 he began taking his students along for on-the-scene instruction, each being assigned a work detail to keep the party disciplined and moving smoothly, including the keeping of a trip log. On these sketch trips in the 1930s, the teenaged Lucretia Donnell, among other duties, kept the log with apparent thoroughness (at least enough to satisfy Frank Reaugh) but more importantly for us, with perceptivity and all the exuberance of youth, none of which she lost in the intervening years. Little did anyone know in the 1930s that she was writing a book for the ages.
