Histoire Du Prophète Muhammad (Psl): Muhammad, Une Mission Bien Accomplie

One issue that often brings conflict between Christians and Muslims is the issue of the identity of Jesus Christ and that of Muhammad. Why Muslims see Jesus Christ as nothing more than a servant and a messenger of Allah, the Christians see him beyond that, Christians see Jesus as the Son of God the very image of the invisible God who came into the world the save man from sin and destruction. You would not need to have much training in Christian Theology to be able to see that Jesus' foot print is in almost all the books of the Bible; from Genesis to Revelation. In the Bible you see Jesus in prophesies, Jesus in action and Jesus in allusion. Christians never mistake Muhammad for anything other than a false prophet and an impostor into the Abrahamic monotheism, but the Muslims consider him a prophet and a messenger of Allah their God and a role model for all his followers. The reasons for these two different and divergent views are not farfetched, Muslims read the Bible in the light of the Quran. The Quran claim that it is the final revelation of God, you will lose out if you don't key in. While Christians read the Quran in the light of the Bible, the unchangeable eternal word of God, and that leads to different conclusion and identification of the two great personalities Jesus and Muhammad. Ironically, however, the very characteristics of Muhammad as extoled in the Quran and Hadiths as those of a great prophet are the same characteristics when looking at in the light of the gospel of Christ the same exposed him as a false prophet, but this is completely concealed to the Muslims. The Quran required the Muslims to check up with the Bible for confirmation of the truth of the Quranic revelation, but the extent to which Muslims hid to this instruction is a different thing altogether (Q5:47-49,10:94) In this book, however we will look at Jesus and Muhammad in the light of the Bible revelation in an attempt to answer sundry questions that will help probe into some basic truth about these two personalities with the aim of helping you make right decision that may determine your destiny. This is not being partial but the right thing to do since the Bible predate the Quran for at least 600 years and if they both came from the same source then the former should be the benchmark for the confirmation of the truth. After going through this book, you should be able to take responsibility for who you trust with your life in time and in eternity. It is your God given ability to discern and to choose between good and evil. Christian attempt to reach the Muslims with the gospel of Jesus Christ has always been met with strong resistance and the reasons are obvious: It has always been because of lack of proper knowledge of who really was Jesus Christ and who was Muhammad. There are a number of things that fuel their stiff resistance to the Gospel: The Muslims are under the illusion that God has given them the best religion in the world, not knowing that religion is a curse to mankind, no religion is capable of given man salvation. The word religion is not even mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible and in the few places where it was mentioned in the New Testament is not something one should desire to have. From Genesis to Revelation God wants man to relate to him in a family relationship predicated on love. A relationship based on pure love towards God and towards our fellow men. The Quran made Muslims to understand that one of the unpardonable sins of man is to make God a partner with man, and Christianity and Judaism happens to falls under the categories of religion that makes their prophets partners with God according to Islam and this is shirk the unpardonable sin.

The conflict about the identity of the individuals representing the term "Ahl al Bayt" or "people of the household" is the focus of this book, where the complexities in which the Quran, Hadith and history all weave together to analyze and answer the question: Who are the "Ahl al Bayt?" In this book, this specific verse is analyzed with astounding detail, breaking down each individual term making up the verse through linguistic investigation, and using hadith and the Quran to verify and examine, as well as answer conclusively, who the "Ahl al Bayt" are.

The book which is presented to the reader is written to answer many important questions, both classical and modern. It is, not surprisingly, that many previous books on comparison between the Islam and Christianity were written from the Christian position; even in scholarly research Islam has been seen through the lens of Christian religion and in the pattern of Christian belief. That is why in 60-ss of previous century a notable Harvard scholar, Wilfred Cantwell Smith wrote his "The Meaning and End of Religion" to question the validity of the concept of religion; he rightly noticed, that, for example, Islam describes it in terms of deen which essentially has a wider meaning than Latin religare/religere. Deen usually cover political, social and economical code for the happiness of the mankind, while the "religion" is merely a kind of internal belief. In contrast to the aforementioned works, the book by Elena Trencevska - Cekovic 'From Jesus to "Mohammed" presents another point of view. It is written not to "refute" some other religions, but, first of all, to present the truth of early religious history. At the beginning of the book, the authors shows a background of early Christianity and tries to reconstruct the true teaching of Isa (Jesus). Nowadays, due to apocrypha and availability of other early writings, one may see many other stories of Christianity, which are so far from "canonical." Especially, these stories are not new; already in the 2th century C.E. (Years before the Nicaea Council) many religious groups pretended to be the real followers of Jesus. The author shows this story, using the variety of sources in order to argue how many political reasons influenced the development of Christianity. Many parts of the book are dedicated to the personality of Isa and development of his image in both Christianity and Islam. Today, when to compare the Quranic vision of Isa to the early Christian sources, we may see many similar stories (for example, the Quranic narration about birds from the clue). This shows that Isa (for example, his early life) is a great mystery of history; but since we have a very small account about this in the Quran no one has a real proof to speculate about this. And this is why this book calls us not to start some polemics, but to consider the sacred text which gives the most authoritative stories to the believers. For Muslims, all the prophets - those who mentioned in the Old Testament, New Testament and the Qur'an and those which are not known to us by their names - called to obedience of one God. That is why Muslims in every period of Islamic history were interested in other religion - not merely to "refute" them, but to show, that the root of religion is the monotheism, and that polytheism is something make-believe only.

The FBI Files on Muhammad Ali

The FBI Files on Muhammad Ali

Josh Keen

CRITICAL, CULTURAL AND COMMUNICATIONS PRESS
2020

The FBI files on Muhammad Ali in the two volumes which make up this collection were released in four batches from December 2016, six months after the boxer's death. While some FBI documents on Ali are still unavailable, there remains a massive body of material of almost 1,000 pages, reproduced here in its entirety. In his extensive Introduction, Josh Keen seeks to explain the FBI's motivations for recording the activities of the late boxer throughout the 1960s and beyond, and outlines the main factors which caused him to be considered politically subversive and worthy of such surveillance. Keen is the first to analyse them in a scholarly way in their biographical and historical context, and shows that no one has yet really come to grips with the Ali evidence and how much it contributes, not only to Ali's biography but also to our understanding of the FBI in the period and within the wider history of the 1960s. He argues convincingly that the FBI's attention to Ali was not merely part of its broader investigation of the Nation of Islam movement to which Ali belonged. It was pursued and extended because of Ali's outspoken challenges to white America and the Vietnam War and the effect his words and actions had as the most famous sportsman in the world. By engaging with the historiography on the FBI, Keen explores how perceptions of the federal agency have changed as its shield of secrecy has been gradually dissolved. Particular focus is placed upon the overbearing influence on its activities of the Bureau's Director, J. Edgar Hoover, especially in its counter-intelligence program. Keen shows how Ali acted 'subversively' on multiple fronts, and how these must therefore be seen in the context of Hoover's own personal beliefs about what America should look like and what sort of behaviour could be tolerated. Exploring the FBI's reaction to Ali's involvement in the 'semi-religious group', the Nation of Islam, reveals Hoover's anxieties over Ali's devotion to Elijah Muhammad's interpretation of Islam, as well as his radical standpoint on race relations. Keen's analysis of the correlation between FBI surveillance and Ali's increasingly public anti-Vietnam War stance also highlights the significance of Ali's politically symbolic refusal to join the armed forces, and of the movement that he stirred.
