Explore and Survive the Radius Book 1: Adapting to the Radius of The Radius Series is a post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi thriller written by D.M. MUGA. Ben, Eileen, and Richard are three of close to nine million people that were trapped within the Blue Hole Radius, in Southern California, and emerged into a world that is 1,410 years into their future. What would your life be like if the rest of the world passed you by for 1,410 years? What would the rest of the world look like? How would that affect those that were trapped within the Blue Hole Radius? Will the well-known, progressive area of Southern California take it in stride? Will it return to the days of the Wild Wild West? Or will it turn into something else entirely? On May 19th, 2023, scientists at Caltech were successful with not only simulating a black hole but also creating a temporary black hole, which lasted exactly 60 seconds. The affected area of the temporary black hole was that of a radius of 71 miles at its largest width, 23 miles at its largest height, and 6 miles into the Earth at its deepest depth. Within the affected area, for every second that passed by inside of the Blue Hole Radius, twenty-three and a half years passed by outside of the Blue Hole Radius.Benjamin Reilly is an aircraft mechanic, working at Ontario International Airport. Eileen Rivera is an emergency room nurse working at Loma Linda University Hospital. Richard Clark is an inmate, serving year 3 of his 20-year sentence in Chino Prison.Follow the stories of these three Americans, as they deal with the aftermath of the black hole paradox, which created the Blue Hole Radius.
The Town Tricksters is the story of a hard-headed boy who is expelled from school for indiscipline and ostracised by the elders of the village. He takes off to the city where he undergoes several experiences that with compelling inevitability lead to his death. Beneath this simple story is the tensions of modern Africa - her fragmentation into the rural and the urban, the traditional and the modern segments.

One loser, one karate-chopping bombshell, and one talking cockroach stand between YOU and the zombie apocalypse. It's business as usual at the 24/7 Demon Mart. Well, not exactly. The beer cave is still the portal to hell, but things haven't been quite right since a handful of vengeful beasts from beyond nearly destroyed the store in their bid to unleash hell on earth. Demon Mart has a serious pest problem. Shoddy construction has compromised the gate. Even the neighborhood is in flux, now that the Monster Burger across the street has a snooty new owner with a personal beef against the Demon Mart staff. And Lloyd Wallace, one-time world-saving hero, is too scared to leave his house. He's had a bit of trouble dealing with the fact that zombies are real (and a valued part of the Demon Mart team), blood-thirsty hell beasts are real, and that his boss is the devil. His guardian angel-who lives in a Magic 8-Ball-has had to resort to extreme measures to get Lloyd to leave the safety of his childhood bedroom, show up for work, and keep the promises he made to God. When the store's living dead staff get restless, and human customers start shuffling around, absolutely starving, ready to eat anything they can get their hands on, it's clear 24/7 Demon Mart has a big problem. It's ground zero for the zombie apocalypse. It's up to DeeDee, Lloyd, and Kevin to save the day-again. But Lloyd will have to conquer his crippling fear long enough to do his job. Can he man up and become a world-saving hero? Or, will he remain a couch-surfing zero? If they fail, Columbus, Ohio, could quickly turn into Zombie, Ohio. The fate of the world is on the line. In medieval Britain, the works of Homer were practically unknown. In his absence, the half-remembered story of the Trojan War took on a distinctly Arthurian flavour, with the heroes Achilles and Hector reimagined as armoured knights on horseback, duelling with broadsword and lance. The earliest known account of the Trojan War in the English language is the Seege of Troye: an anonymous minstrel poem of the early fourteenth century, loosely based on the Excidio Trojae Historia of Dares Phrygius and the Roman de Troie of Beno t de Sainte-Maure. Fresh from his 2018 translation of John Lydgate's 30,000-line epic Troy Book, D. M. Smith now turns his attention to this lighter and more vernacular work, presenting its first translation into Modern English. Smith provides the full MS. Lincoln's Inn 150-most complete of the four surviving manuscripts of the Seege of Troye-with supplementary material from the extensively-rewritten MS. Harley 525. Also included is a modern translation of the Rawlinson Prose Siege of Troy-a fifteenth-century redaction of Lydgate's Troy Book, and the oldest English prose account of the Trojan War-here published for the first time alongside its metrical namesake. Both texts are heavily annotated, with a detailed introduction placing them within the wider "Troy" canon of the Middle Ages and classical antiquity.
Martha was well acquainted with sorrow. Orphaned at a young age, she looked for solace in the law of Yahweh. She sought to control her fear with perfect performance. Before he died, her father had taught her well the traditions of her people, the ancient Israelites. The little village of Bethany, snuggled beneath the shadow of Jerusalem, was Martha's domain. She became the overseer of her family's dwelling when her mother died. Despite her efforts, Martha was not perfect. She blamed herself for the bad things that happened. She constantly fought her emotions. She battled the darkness that existed within her. When she looked to the law of Yahweh for clarity, she only found confusion and blame. Everything changed when a young man named Yeshua came into her life. He brought light to Martha's darkness by illuminating the Holy Scriptures in ways she had never known before. Would Martha let Yeshua open her eyes to the light of life? Would she be able to see the grace He offered her? Would her life be transformed by a new relationship to THE TRUTH?Book Two of The Life, The Truth, The Way Series.
Our firefly friends are disappearing ... Many of us have wonderful childhood memories of catching fireflies on warm summer evenings. They lit up our backyards like a fireworks display and left us laughing with delight. There were so many fireflies gently gliding through the darkness, it was easy to catch them in glass jars and watch their lights magically blinking on and then off again before we let them go. Our children and grandchildren may not experience the magic and wonder of fireflies because they are disappearing from fields, lakes, marshes and forests all over the United States and around the world. If we don't do something to protect them, they may be gone forever. Researchers think that over development and light pollution are two main reasons for the decline in firefly populations. All fireflies, both male and female, flash their lights to communicate, attract mates, defend their territory and warn off predators. At night, light pollution from apartments, strip malls, housing developments and commercial buildings makes it difficult for fireflies to signal each other during mating season so fewer are born each year. We can help the fireflies by turning off outside lights at night. By doing this, they will be able to signal each other with flashes in the darkness and find mates to increase their populations. Over time, this simple act will help firefly populations across our country and the world to recover and allow future generations to experience the joy of fireflies, just as we did. To learn more about fireflies and light pollution, including ways to help your local community reduce the lighting it uses at night, visit FireFly.org, DarkSky.org and DarkSkyInitiative.org. We can save our dark skies and our fireflies so future generations can enjoy them
