Positional Sanctification: Two Consequences

Positional Sanctification: Two Consequences

David H. J. Gay

Createspace Independent Publishing Platform

nidottu
David Gay has written this booklet as a follow-up to his 'Fivefold Sanctification', in which he set out the five aspects of sanctification: purposed, accomplished, positional, progressive and absolute. Why this second title? Gay is convinced that many believers do not appreciate their glorious standing in Christ - their positional sanctification - and, as a result, do not consciously enjoy the benefits which flow to them through it. To try to rectify this sad lack, Gay concentrates on two leading uses of the believer's positional sanctification; namely, the part it plays in both the believer's assurance and his progressive sanctification. The first is important because many believers, alas, do not experience biblical assurance. Instead, taking the Reformed line, they look to their works under the law for their assurance. And as for the second, some teach that progressive sanctification does not exist Gay hopes his booklet may do something to help believers on both counts.A free download of the author reading the book is available on sermonaudio.com
You Can Write A Million Dollar Memoir

You Can Write A Million Dollar Memoir

If you're like millions of others, over the years, you may have daydreamed of writing a memoir. Hopefully not a thick, dry autobiography on the dust shelves of yesteryear, but a fresh, new slice-of-life memoir right out of your own memory Generals, politicians and movie stars write (often boring or stuffy) autobiographies spanning their whole lives. Modern day memoirists write about a certain, exciting or interesting time from their memories, a "slice of life" memoir. For instance, Frank McCort, author of the bestselling "Angela's Ashes", wrote about growing up dirt-poor in the slums of Limmerick, Ireland and the influence of his ne'r-do-well drunken father. He ended that tough-telling of his younger years when he finally realized his dream of reaching America when he was 19, a span of 12 years. Or Jennifer Walls' terrific memoir "The Glass Castle" where her family moves constantly during her childhood searching unsuccessfully for funds to build her father's magical glass castle. These are the modern kinds of Million Dollar Memoirs I'm talking about. And you can write one of your own This book can show you how
The Essential Sabbath

The Essential Sabbath

David H. J. Gay

David Gay has produced this booklet by taking his 'Sabbath Questions: An open letter to Iain Murray', and stripping it of its references to Iain Murray, Calvin and the Reformed, leaving the work, as its title says, to stand as 'The Essential Sabbath'. And as such, he hopes, it may reach a wider audience. Gay has chosen his title with deliberation. Not only has he reduced his earlier volume to its essentials, but, as he argues, unless sinners know and experience the true sabbath - spiritual rest through faith in the saving person and work of Christ - eternal disaster awaits them. There is a second reason behind this work. The accusation most often laid against new-covenant theologians is that of 'Antinomian ', with their view of the sabbath being offered as invincible proof of it. This is both a travesty and a tragic mistake. Gay hopes this work may go some way to set the record straight. Not only that. Do not miss his use of 'tragic'. As before, not to enjoy the true sabbath is the worst of all worlds - and eternity A free download of the author reading the book is available on sermonaudio.com

The sequel to On Deception Watch, On Vestige Way is a cli-fi thriller of the near future. Epic in scope, its theme is global warming and its stage is the entire Earth. It can be read on at least two levels. First, it is an exciting story of worsening world climate conditions and the consequent impact on the Marshall family, interracial couple James and Sylvia Marshall, both high level employees of The World Federation, and their son, Jonas. Their adventures are entwined with the impact of climate change on The World Federation, a super corporation tasked with converting the world to a safe hydrogen energy economy based on controlled laser-induced fusion. In addition, there is Paul Latimer, former Vice President of the United States whose secret intelligence gathering firm has successfully penetrated the worldwide Deep State. Second, it can be read as a wake up call dramatically portraying the future that may happen if we don't stop burning fossil fuels. The science in the story (gently introduced) is accurate and the projected future is entirely possible. The central anchor for the story is Beijing, The People's Republic of China, which is the new headquarters location for The World Federation. However, the story hopscotches the world from Bangladesh to the Middle East, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Northern China, Mongolia, Siberia, the United States, Mexico, Canada and the jungles of Brazil. The characters and action are riveting and themes are just a headline away: World government, alternative energy, climate wars, food refugees mass migrations and atomic blackmail.

In 1986, it takes LAPD Officer Donald Henderson just ninety seconds, while in foot pursuit of suspected car thieves in South Central Los Angeles, to plant the crosshairs of future government civil rights charges on his back. After he is absolved repeatedly of excessive force charges, Henderson falls afoul of the public fury over the 1991 beating of Rodney King and simultaneously loses his badge and his freedom. Some thirty years later, Officer Henderson's prosecutor, Keisha Howard, is now a senior official in the Justice Department and on the short list to become the next attorney general. Known for targeting law enforcement for civil rights violations that include the Henderson case, Keisha acknowledges she has a chip on her shoulder and that an AG appointment will lock it in its rightful place forever. But just as she is preparing to secure the nomination, LAPD officers chase and beat up a teenage Hispanic suspect, bringing the Henderson case into the public eye once again. Now with her dreams for power in jeopardy, Keisha searches for answers within her memories of the trial. But what she does not know is that the past is about to rise up and change everything. Willful Intent shares the gripping tale of an ambitious assistant US attorney's journey as she embarks on a quest to achieve her professional dream and impede the repercussions from a past prosecution.

Genesis Ideology explores the purpose of stories in the book of Genesis as building blocks for ancient Israelite culture. This book exposes the intersection of the author's ideological agenda and the contemporary reader's interpretive practice. This volume, written for a general readership, is informed by contemporary scholarly approaches to biblical literature as well as questions of contemporary relevance. ""On very rare occasions, a book appears that screams, 'Read me ' Genesis Ideology is such a book. In clear and cogent language, David Aaron provides an original framework for understanding the book of Genesis in light of the ideological concerns of its authors. Drawing on his vast knowledge of Ancient Near Eastern literature and modern literary theory, Aaron allows seemingly familiar biblical passages to yield novel, ethical, and religious meanings. This book will richly reward its readers "" --David Ellenson, Director, Schusterman Center for Israel Studies, Brandeis University; Chancellor Emeritus, former President, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion David H. Aaron is Professor of Hebrew Bible and the History of Interpretation at Hebrew Union College, Jewish Institute of Religion (Cincinnati). "It takes a brave person to write a cookbook these days," begins Thomas Moore (author of Care of the Soul: A Guide to Cultivating Depth and Sacredness in Everyday Life) in his foreword to The Alchemy of Cooking. "In this book you will sense no heroics . . . What you get is a sophisticated man choosing to eat simply and inviting others to share in his culinary happiness. Chef as therapist." "I was reminded of James Holman's Freud's Own Cookbook with its recipes for such psychological fare as "momovers' and 'Paranoid Pie.'"
