Mitch was five when he learned his mother would be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. If he hadn't grown up with such an inspirational mother, however, he wouldn't have been prepared for what would come. At 35, the same age as his mother when she had her accident, Mitch began experiencing symptoms of primary progressive multiple sclerosis, a particularly disabling form of MS, and his physical challenges grew to resemble his mother's. In the ensuing years, he muddled through the ethical swampland of clinical trials, navigated the minefield of experimental treatments, and became a popular blogger and disability advocate.Equal parts entertaining and inspiring, Enjoying the Ride tells an extraordinary mother and son story, provides a behind-the-scenes view of the lives of disabled people, and reveals the previously untold story about the night Mitch's mother was injured.

As the Son of a Dog Man ... I Smell Blood: Norman Kemmer and his life with the American Pit Bull Terrier
As the Son of a Dog Man ... I Smell Blood is a true to life historical fiction account of what it was like when the sport was very different than it is either perceived or illegally practiced today. There was a time when dog fighting was both legal and honorable. Those who participated were animal lovers and sportsmen. Author Mitch Kemmer's father, Norman Kemmer was well-known as one of the greats of the game. Told in vivid detail based on the memories of his childhood, the younger Kemmer brings the reader pitside, with all of its excitement, intrigue and valor.
As the Son of a Dog Man ... I Became a Hog Hunter: Norman Kemmer and his life with the American Pit Bull Terrier
As the Son of a Dog Man ... I Became a Hog Hunter is a true to life historical fiction account of the challenging sport of Wild Boar Hunting. Kemmer was born into the sport, through his father and grandfather as he grew up in Southern Mississippi, and was instantly smitten with a life-long love of the sport. Today, as the owner of Spartan Hunting Preserve, a hog hunting lodge and preserve in Tennessee, he takes the reader into the woods on adventures most can only dream of. He writes with genuine affection about this most challenging of Big Game Trophies and the true sportsmen who hunt them--with great honor and respect for the cunning and tenacity of their most admirable opponent.
Cajun Rules by Gaboon Trahan: Courtesy of Norman Kemmer and His Life with the American Pit Bull Terrier
Norman Kemmer purchased this copy of Gaboon Trahan's Cajun Rules in the late 1960s as he first entered the sport of Dog Fighting. We were told by Floyd B. that Trahan wrote this set of rules in 1954. All of my life men have said, "We are going by the Cajun Rules", but truly few of them knew what they said. My father carried his set in his shirt pocket to every match. His original set is the only original copy that I personally have ever seen straight from the 'Trahan Printing Press'. I have been asked by many who are fans of the History of the American Pit Bull Terrier, to copy this Historical Artifact to the best of my ability and make it available to the public. This copy is meant for those interested in the History of the Sport, and not in any way meant to be used in any illegal activities. I am publishing this as a tribute to Gaboon Trahan as the author of these rules, and to Norman Kemmer as the best Referee I ever saw in the game. So to the author of these rules, and best enforcer of these rules, I salute you.
As the Son of a Dog Man ... I was Tortured with Knowledge
As the Son of a Dog Man ... I was Tortured with Knowledge is a true to life historical fiction account of the challenging task of firmly, humanely and effectively conditioning American Pit Bull Terriers for combat. Kemmer was a third-generation dog man, learning from his father and grandfather as he grew up in Southern Mississippi. He loves dogs, and the sport of their combat. With proper conditioning, a dog is equal to the challenges of combat, as is any professional athlete. Kemmer writes with genuine affection about the days when dogs meeting in combat was legal, respected, and represented the contest of worthy opponents. This is the story of how they prepared.
