This voyage would be different from the last two in 2012 and 2013. We would be moving the boat to a different area and not returning to our "home port" in Maine. Actually our real home port is New Orleans but we haven't been back there since we sailed away in the year 2000 for Norway. Now starts a new pipe dream, sailing to the Bahamas. It will include a trip down the Eastern Seaboard, stopping at a few selected ports, until we reach Florida where we will cross over to the islands. Since I have never been there, it will be a new experience for me. I'm in no hurry to get there, so this adventure will take a few months done over a period of two years. First I plan to put together a crew to sail partway down the East Coast where I will park the boat. The next year we will finish going down the coast and cross the Gulf Stream to the Bahamas at West End where we check into customs. Once we clear customs, then on to the Berry Islands and over to Nassau. After that, we will go south to the Exumas.

Insects are a natural and necessary part of a healthy forest ecosystem and most insect species are actually beneficial and only a few present a real problem to forests and forest products. The establishments of exotic plantations in most of tropical and subtropical countries have resulted into invasion of these plantations by a number of diseases and insect pests. The aim of this study was to determine the status of Cypress aphid in terms of its distribution and abundance along the gradient and age classes, damage level and natural enemies in SUATF plantation. The information generated from this study could be used by policy makers and forest managers to make proper management decision in dealing with Cypress aphid problems. Therefore, objectives of this study were to determine the altitudinal distribution and abundance of Cypress aphid in SUATF, to assess the altitudinal distribution and abundance of natural enemies and damage intensity of Cupressus lusitanica of different age classes as a result of Cypress aphid attack.

In his treatise on history, civilization or barbarism, Cheick Anta Diop stressed the need for Africans to study their own history and civilization in order to gain a better understanding of themselves and render all cultural weapons obsolete, grotesque and henceforth inoffensive. Aware of the importance of rewriting African history, which has been somewhat falsified for ideological reasons, these young researchers are attempting to retrace the continent's history, drawing on oral and archaeological sources and travellers' accounts. They are tackling themes that have proved to be the poor relations of Beninese historiography. This first attempt is the beginning of a series of scientific articles that will attempt to forge a historical consciousness in the minds of young Africans.

I 1910 braut det unge fiolintalentet Ingvald Kristian Eriksen Varhaugvik opp frå heimplassen på øya Gossen i Ytre Romsdal. Han reiste til Amerika, vart populær musikar, pedagog og komponist og endra namnet sitt til Ingwald Wicks. Med kona Ruby, også ho dyktig musikar, fekk han døtrene Virginia og Camilla. Virginia dreiv stort som agent for mange kjende jazzmusikarar. Camilla vart stjernefiolinist og professor med suksessrike konsertar og lange turnéar i fleire land, også Norge. I denne boka følgjer vi familien gjennom oppturar og nedturar. I 1953 skriv Ingwald til Virginia: Eg fattar ikkje kva eg har gjort som gjer meg fortent til to så dyktige døtre som deg og Camilla. Lite visste eg då eg kom til dette landet som ein fattig, ung emigrant at eg skulle møte og gifte meg med ei slik vakker kvinne som mor di - og på toppen av det heile bli velsigna med to så ekstraordinært flotte døtre. Gud har vore meir enn god mot meg.

Dette er den andre boka gjeven ut på Lyrikkforlaget, denne gongen i samarbeid med Johannes Eines.Johannes Eines (f. 1948) har vakse opp på Vestvågøy i Lofoten, og bur no i Oslo der han har jobba som sjukepleiar. Han debuterte med diktsamlinga "Sakte kjem eg der" i 2014. Han er representert i fleire antologiar. "Ord i Nordavind.
