Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse, (15 October 1881 - 14 February 1975) was an English writer whose body of work includes novels, collections of short stories, and musical theatre. Wodehouse enjoyed enormous popular success during a career of more than seventy years and his prolific writings continue to be widely read. Despite the political and social upheavals that occurred during his life, much of which was spent in France and the United States, Wodehouse's main canvas remained that of pre-war English upper-class society, reflecting his birth, education, and youthful writing career. An acknowledged master of English prose, Wodehouse has been admired both by contemporaries such as Hilaire Belloc, Evelyn Waugh and Rudyard Kipling and by modern writers such as Douglas Adams, Salman Rushdie, Zadie Smith and Terry Pratchett. Journalist and writer Christopher Hitchens commented, "... there is not, and never will be anything to touch him." Best known today for the Jeeves and Blandings Castle novels and short stories, Wodehouse was also a playwright and lyricist who was part author and writer of 15 plays and of 250 lyrics for some 30 musical comedies, many of them produced in collaboration with Jerome Kern and Guy Bolton. He worked with Cole Porter on the musical Anything Goes (1934), wrote the lyrics for the hit song "Bill" in Kern's Show Boat (1927), wrote lyrics to Sigmund Romberg's music for the Gershwin - Romberg musical Rosalie (1928), and collaborated with Rudolf Friml on a musical version of The Three Musketeers (1928).Right Ho, Jeeves is the second full-length novel featuring the popular characters Jeeves and Bertie Wooster, after Thank You, Jeeves. It also features a host of other recurring Wodehouse characters, and is mostly set at Brinkley Court, the home of Bertie's Aunt Dahlia. It was first published in the United Kingdom on October 5, 1934 by Herbert Jenkins, London, and in the United States on October 15, 1934 by Little, Brown and Company, Boston, under the title Brinkley Manor. Before being published as a book, it had been sold to the Saturday Evening Post, in which it appeared in serial form from December 23, 1933 to January 27, 1934, and in England in Grand Magazine from April to September 1934. Them's bullets I thought to myself. And I kept running. When I reached a clump of trees I took cover immediately and started shaking all over. Those bastards are shooting at me and trying to kill me What seemed like a minute of fear was probably only a few seconds, and then it kicked in. I instinctively raised my M-16 and fired away, emptying the twenty-round clip. Bullets were zinging through the air all over the place. This...was combat -- In 1966, the son of a mild-mannered ex-Marine sharpshooter was a manager at an amusement park in San Jose, CA. Warren Weitzel received his invitation from the government to participate in the ongoing conflict in Vietnam. The Army wasn't what he was expecting, but Weitzel manages to combine his life training with the Army's training, and survived for a year "in country". And so here are his observations, good and bad, as a sergeant in a combat platoon.

The extraordinary journey of an “impossible” sculpture made from the negative form of an ancient Korean gate In 2006, London-based Korean artist Do Ho Suh (born 1962) began work on a seemingly impossible project—to “make something out of nothing,” casting the negative form of a traditional Korean gate in solid acrylic resin. Portal would take nearly a decade to complete, and would provide the site for fundamental developments in Suh’s thinking on the role of both artist and museum in the 21st century, as well as the relationship between East and West. This volume tells the epic story of that process through those who made it possible. Through color illustrations and texts, it provides unique access to the typically veiled fabrication process: the process of scanning, modelling and constructing a nine-ton sculpture that would appear as if it was not there, a “living ghost image” cast from negative space.

From Ho (Whore) to Holy details the journey of a person going from innocence to idolatry, and back to righteousness, by mirroring Marcia's life steps to those of Israel, the "apple of God's eye." Israel was created by the Creator, because of his desire to have a wife, a people, and a family. Israel is important to all human beings, because it is the focus of what God has planned for all of us, individually But Israel wanted freedom (from one god) and fun, by seeking many lovers (different gods), which in essence, constituted idolatry. How can the whorish Israel ever become a loyal and righteous wife (nation) again? By traveling through Marcia's life, we realize that Israel will be the wife of God, and believers will be the wife of Jesus The book details the steps of becoming a harlot, characteristics of a whore, consequences of whoredom, steps to take to stop whoredom, how to be transformed (with benefits), ensuring that one becomes holy, and no longer living as a ho. There are some women in the Bible who were transformed, with benefits, which included Ruth, Tamar, and Mary Magdalene. There were some who pretended to be transformed, but were not, such as Samson. And then, there were those who no longer practiced whoredom, changed, and became a wife, such as Rahab. This book allows self-assessment of ones level of holiness, righteousness, and intimacy with God.
