The DPAP became an as an independent Agency in 1995 separating from DRDA to implement the Drought Prone Area Programme through watershed Development. The DPAP was renamed as District Water Management Agency (DWMA) in 2003. The Project Director heads the Agency. The Addl. Project Director, The Administrative Officer, APO - M&E, APO - Accounts, Superintendents, Course Directors and Ministerial Staff support the Project Director in smooth running of the administration. Consequent to the Reorganization of the Rural Development, the district divided into 13 Constituency clusters and 13 Asst. Project Directors positioned to supervise / monitor the implementation of the schemes i.e., Watershed Programme, CLDP and NREGS, Horticulture at Constituency level Mandals i.e., The APOs and Technical Assts. will facilitate in implementing the Programmes at cluster level.
