Joe Biden: Quotes to Live By is an inspiring and hilarious collection of over 170 quotes from one of America's most beloved politicians.Homespun, caring and empathetic, Joe is the nation's uncle, but his sometimes bizarre and baffling remarks can seem misjudged at best and offensive at worst, even when they are the innocent result of his no-filter plainspeak. With his fascinating backstory, from conquering his famous stutter and his humble middle-class upbringing, to becoming the youngest senator elected to Congress at the time, to the deep tragedy of the loss of his young wife and baby daughter, and later his son Beau, to his light-hearted bromance with President Obama, Joe has an unparalleled ability to connect with the ordinary 'joe'. Despite his tendency for foot-in-the-mouth gaffes, his integrity, moral fortitude and patriotism shine from his words, revealing a dedicated public servant, devoted family man, person of faith and ardent American. You will find his thoughts on success, and his many failures, along with his hopes and dreams for the American people – because it's always the people whom he serves.Joe Biden has said, 'In this world, emotion has become suspect. The accepted style is smooth, antiseptic and passionless', which is certainly something that could never be said about him.

The youngest of seven children from a renowned Portumna hurling family, Joe Canning was regarded as a prodigy from the moment he stepped onto the pitch as a boy. Could he really be as great as everyone said he was? The answer appeared to be yes when, aged just 19, he burst onto the national radar scoring 2–12 for Galway and very nearly winning the game for his team against Cork. From that moment on, Canning’s form was never less than excellent but it would be another nine summers before he lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup, the whole country becoming fixated on his quest: could Joe Canning be the greatest hurler never to win an All-Ireland medal? In his highly anticipated memoir, Joe delves into the highs and lows of a remarkable career – the standards of excellence he at times felt chained to, the suffocation of trying to meet other people’s expectations, his parents’ battles with cancer and the perspective that brought as he strove for greatness. Joe also shares the joy at seeing his parents’ faces – the ones he did it all for – when that All-Ireland win finally did happen, and he talks about how he made peace with his decision to retire.

Joe Duffy takes the pulse of the Irish nation every day on Liveline. Whenever somebody wants to get something off their chest, the advice is often: “Talk to Joe”.Just Joe reveals the private man behind the public voice. Joe writes with raw honesty about his difficult upbringing in working-class Ballyfermot, with a hard-drinking father and hard-working mother, and about his younger brother Brendan, who has drink and drug problems and has spent time in prison. His social justice campaigning led to him becoming President of the Union of Students in Ireland. He spent two weeks in Mountjoy Jail following a protest against government cutbacks. Joe eventually moved into a career in RTÉ Radio, where he first became known as a roving reporter on The Gay Byrne Show, before finally finding his niche on Liveline. Just Joe highlights the major stories and controversies raised by the programme; it also deals with the shocking death in 2010 of Joe’s friend and fellow broadcaster Gerry Ryan. This is a riveting, deeply felt and fascinating memoir of a complex, passionate man.

Joe Brainard: I Remember
The American artist's much-imitated memoir, described by Paul Auster as "one of the few totally original books I have ever read.” Joe Brainard's I Remember is a literary and artistic cult classic, praised and admired by writers from Paul Auster to John Ashery and Edmund White. As autobiography, Brainard's method was brilliantly simple: to set down specific memories as they rose to the surface of his consciousness, each prefaced by the refrain "I remember": "I remember when I thought that if you did anything bad, policemen would put you in jail." Brainard's enduring gem of a book has been issued in various forms over the past thirty years. In 1970, Angel Hair books published the first edition of I Remember, which quickly sold out; he wrote two subsequent volumes for Angel Hair, More I Remember (1972) and More I Remember More (1973), both of which proved as popular as the original. In 1973, the Museum of Modern Art in New York published Brainard's I Remember Christmas, a new text for which he also contributed a cover design and four drawings. Excerpts from the Angel Hair editions appeared in Interview, Gay Sunshine, The World and the New York Herald. Then in 1975, Full Court Press issued a revised version collecting all three of the Angel Hair volumes and added new material, using the original title I Remember. This complete edition is prefaced by poet and translator Ron Padgett.
