When a manager expects their team simply to know what to do and does nothing to assist them the result will ultimately be failure. A good leader is one who has the ability and patience to teach their team and inspire them to succeed.

The characters in Thom Brucie's Obsidian Mirth fall into a dilemma where loss and betrayal entangle the need for forgiveness and love. Their choices reveal what distinctions lie between knowing one's self and knowing another, choices that expose that small moment tottering between life-affirming hope and the despair of meaninglessness. This is a heart-rending and beautiful story, and these characters will hover at the outskirts of your thoughts like whispering ghosts of past kinships.

Iconoclastic momentum: the creative, innovative, and destructive force necessary to push aside accepted dogma and in-the-box thinking to develop novel solutions in a world where sufficiency reigns. Solutions developed from an iconoclastic momentum require multiple perspectives and the discovery of why a problem exists, the ability to perceive a world in which the problem does not exist, and how this is achieved. Iconoclastic momentum acknowledges the fact that the presentation of the problem may be the reason innovative solutions are not found; that predictable destinies are obstacles, and irrationality directs and evolves the world; why a lack of knowledge can be an important contributor to the innovative process; and why language in the form of metaphor is as important as scientific or engineering skills. The discussion presented within will challenge those who champion traditional perspectives to understand that gain in a time of change comes at the expense of entrenched beliefs, dogma, and status quo; that innovative gain (i.e., market changers) is not just disruptive, it is destructive, provoking discontinuity and turmoil in the market as it must ... and that is a good thing.

This book chronicles an urban winter's excursion colored by memories of the restaurants and places frequented by a charismatic and eccentric lifelong inhabitant of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Follow this enchantingly notorious celebrity as she dabbles in social interactions with former business associates and rises to the occasion with each person she meets in social settings. This adventure is narrated by a "twenty something" companion who (sometimes reluctantly) accompanies her on a journey fraught with surprising ironies, assumptions, and moments of enlightenment.

When Rick and Lora say they’ve been colleagues for a long time, they mean it. For over 200 years, these partners have roamed the mortal world as real-life cupids – magic-wielding foot soldiers on the battlefront of love. Now it’s the 21st century, and Rick and Lora are facing their most challenging case ever: bringing together a Type-A, career-driven woman and a former football player-cum-barista who couldn’t be more different. The pair is perfect for each other (even if they don’t know it yet) so the cupids will have to make sure their love arrows land, and do it all while they face their own unrequited feelings for one another. Will love win the day?
Chef Tomaso's Roto Menus

What's that you say? GOOD LORD... not another cook book? My intention in compiling Chef Tomaso's Roto Menus is to fill in a missing gap in culinary literature. With the junk food fads of our era and continually rising food prices, there is a crying need for a sensible guideline. Chef Tomaso's Roto Menus covers hundreds of recipes, arraigned in four non-repeating, one month groups, one at a time, in menu format. It rotates red meats, seafood, poultry and vegetarian dishes. To balance out all that healthiness, included are thirty sinfully delicious desserts. For those of us who must carefully watch our groaning waistlines, there is a section on low carbohydrate cooking, including meals and desserts. These menus, and their accompanying recipes, have been time tested for taste, economy and healthy variety.

The Black Tourmaline is the first book of a trilogy in which Chapter one and two are non-fiction. Thereafter it morphs into a fictional tale that is laced with murder, mystery and a pitfall riddled romance. An enthusiastic fan of Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys in my youth, I would like to think I have taken the art of masking mysteries with hidden clues to a new level. If you look close enough, you just might find a number of such clues and discover who is actually behind the murders...and why. By the end of "The Black Tourmaline," the stage will not only be set for more danger filled adventures but reveal that love's fight for survival has only just begun. Should you enjoy the ride and be left with more questions than answers, please look for book two of the trilogy, "Clearly in The Dark," in late 2024

Ring Around Racing: A quarter-century chasing racing in the Northeast

I loved racing before I ever met any racers. Yet it's the racers, the people involved in racing, the drivers, the car owners, the track owners, even the media, that have kept me coming back. It's been people like the late Paul Dunigan, the supermodified car-owner who flaunted his supposed unfair advantage over the competition in these, the fastest cars racing on shorttracks. "You can't compete? Go race street stocks," he'd tell you. It's people like the Astles, a band of brothers and sons whose Saturday night speedway-saga goes on still. And it's even folks like the sorry dads who hitch a wagon to their kid hoping to ride it all the way to big-league racing, even if their kid is more into superheroes than superspeedways. Or the moron who went to one race and decided - brace yourself - that we're all there for the crashes. Or the guy who called me out because I wouldn't accuse a competitor of a bush move from my seat a football field away. They've all been fun. So has the racing. Doing it, too. My own misadventures have only added to our affair. This is a collection of my favorite of those relationships, experiences and observations from over a quarter-century around racing. Enjoy them again.
