Jazz Cat and Middy Monkey go on local everyday adventures around the home and local suburbs, finding entertainment and joy wherever they go. A cute story about finding fun and adventure in everyday activities from jumping on the trampoline, going to the supermarket, and visiting the duck pond. Jazz and Middy - Lockdown Adventures is a celebration and wonderful treasured memory highlighting the positive aspects of home life with toddlers and the wonderful time spent together as a family. There are so many things built into a day for small children. It is a privilege to slow down and watch children observe the world in a beautiful way. "A hug, a laugh, a smile, a kiss, the little things matter in all of this."Jazz and Middy - Lockdown Adventures shows the joy children have for everyday activities such as picking a strawberry from the neighbor's garden. Children adore building things out of cardboard boxes, baking muffins, and doing arts and crafts. Having a little more screen time than they would, to getting outside to jump on the trampoline and go for a walk down the creek and the local houses to spot bears and spoon villages. Since 2019 Melbourne Australia (and the rest of the world) has experienced a significant amount of time spent at home in Lockdown to avoid the pandemic. While hopefully a thing of the past, we saw communities come together to support each other by putting out bears for kids to spot in windows. We saw families spend a great deal of time together at home and around their local communities, while some families didn't enjoy this as much, others celebrated and adored the time together that they otherwise wouldn't have had because they were at school or work. Jazz and Middy Lockdown Adventures is a celebration for those who relished this time spent together.

Mathtastic is an off the shelf intervention for teaching number sense. A book for Learning Support Teachers as an intervention at Tier 2 and 3 for students requiring additional support learning number sense skills. The book has an explicit teaching section plus lots of games and activities to practice the skills to fluency. Mathtastic Foundation Level focuses on teaching foundation numbers 1-6 including counting and number formation. The concepts of addition and subtraction are taught and practiced through both and worded problems and number-based. Patterning, doubling and sharing skills are also included as these are key skills. Levels 1,2 & 3 follow on from this and are also available for purchase. Each module can be used as a lesson or can be split over several lessons depending on the time you have available and the speed the student works through the number sense strategies. Lesson components: Thinking problems - these are designed to be open ended and challenge the student to think mathematically. Subitizing - this is the skills of recognising a set of objects without counting and is a key skill which is not always established in students with difficulties in maths.Counting patterns and objects - students need to develop a sense of the number line. Number sense - each session there is a different focus working through the 8 areas of number sense. These are explained and modelled before applying the number sense concept to problems. Games - many students with math difficulties can get anxious about maths and practicing the skills through games is a less threatening way to gain the repetition they need. The games have been chosen to specifically practice the skill in focus and also allow for reasoning skills. Word problems - students need to apply their knowledge in problems. In the Foundation Level only addition: part part whole and joining are taught. For subtraction only separate result unknown is taught, Number problems - each session there are number problems related to the focus area and for modules 7 and 8 spaced retrieval of focus areas is included.

In the heart of a bustling city, a series of chilling murders shake the foundations of belief and reason. When a charismatic religious prophet starts foretelling these heinous acts, doubt clashes with apprehension as an investigative skeptic plunges into the clandestine depths to uncover the enigma. As the prophecy unfolds, shadows of doubt loom large, and the line between truth and illusion blurs. With each revelation, the detective and her new partner must navigate a labyrinth of secrets, confronting the darkness within themselves as they race against time to stop a killer whose motives are as enigmatic as the shadows they cast. "Prophet of Shadows" is a gripping tale of suspense, betrayal, and the trecherous allure of belief, where the answers lie shrouded in darkness, waiting to be brought to light.

Many researchers have highlighted the business value of deeply engaged teams. Indeed a great team is powerful, much more than the sum of its individual people. While many things influence engagement at work, and indeed there is complexity - it isn't rocket science. Engagement Whisperer demystifies the science and describes a 'softly, softly' approach to lifting engagement in your team. There is already so much noise in an organisation that a quieter approach might just be the right 'cup of tea' (or coffee). This book is written for anyone who manages people. Learning for managers is distilled in thirty delicious and easily digestible bites. It's designed as a dipper or a flipper. Simply, you can read a chapter or two at a time on the bus or while enjoying a cappuccino (my preferred option). The book will also be helpful for those people responsible for organisational wide employee engagement initiatives. Perhaps you are in human resources or corporate communications. There are a couple of chapters written with input from folk like you who have run these types of programs in the past. Who is this book for? The books is targeted at managers in large organisations. I've drawn heavily on my PhD research into what's happening when people are highly engaged at work. The results are recommendations for manager's behaviours and team processes. I also talk a bit about what it's like to live in a large organisation and how this influences your status and identity. The book is sprinkled heavily with the voices of employees. What will the reader take away? The book is a fun and enlightening investment of a manager's time. They will come away with ideas on things to do to bring out the best in their team.

The Soft Nut Bike Tour of Burma was led by our friend Chris. Boundless resourcefulness and a refusal to accept defeat are just two of his many skills. Snapped chains, grinding gears and punctures are fixed in a flash and if it all gets too much for our less than youthful bodies, he'll conjure up a truck or train to get us to the next outpost of civilisation. This book describes a ten-day tour of the less travelled area of Southern Myanmar. It's called the Soft Nut Tour because there was also a Tough Nut one which required a level of fitness and fortitude which we no longer possessed - if we ever did.

Where’s the baby? The Gospel of Mark doesn’t have a nativity story—so where’s the Advent message? It’s in every aspect of Jesus’ life, to his death and beyond. The Incarnation—God come to earth in human form to be baptized, teach, heal, eat, and die—is what we celebrate at Christmas, and Mark shows us just how radical and celebration-worthy it is!Holy Disruption presents a fresh understanding of the holiness of Christmas grounded, not in a conventional cozy Christmas message, but through Mark's disquieting gospel which invites its readers to experience God's disruptive but transformative love for us and our world.

In this fascinating book, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Tracy Kidder takes us inside the everyday workings of Northampton, Massachusetts -- a place that seems to personify the typical American hometown. Kidder unveils the complex drama behind the seemingly ordinary lives of Northampton's residents. And out of these stories he creates a splendid, startling portrait of a town, in a narrative that gracefully travels among past and present, public and private, joy and sorrow. A host of real people are alive in these pages: a tycoon with a crippling ailment; a criminal whom the place has beguiled, a genial and merciful judge, a single mother struggling to start a new life at Smith College; and, at the center, a policeman who patrols the streets of his beloved hometown with a stern yet endearing brand of morality -- and who is about to discover the peril of spending a whole life in one small place. Their stories take us behind the town's facades and reveal how individuals shape the social conscience of a community. Home Town is an unflinching yet lovingly rendered account of how a traditional American town endures and evolves at the turn of the millenniums.

Built around three sacred springs, the Jin Shrines complex (Jinci), near Taiyuan in Shanxi province, contains a wealth of ancient art and architecture dating back to the Northern Song dynasty (960-1127). The complex's 1,500-year-long textual record allows us to compare physical and written evidence to understand how the built environment was manipulated to communicate ideas about divinity, identity, and status. Jinci's significance varied over time according to both its patrons' needs and changes in the political and physical landscape. The impact of these changes can be read in the physical development of the site. Using an interdisciplinary approach drawing on the research of archaeologists, anthropologists, and religious, social, and art historians, this book seeks to recover the motivations behind the creation of religious art, including temple buildings, sculpture, and wall paintings. Through an examination of building style and site organization, the author illuminates the multiplicity of meanings projected by buildings within a sacred landscape and the ability of competing patronage groups to modify those meanings with text and context, thereby affecting the identity of the deities housed within them. This study of the art and architecture of Jinci is thus about divine creations and their power to create divinity.
