D. grew up in central New York and spent most of his falls hunting with his father and uncles in the Jay Mountain area. He has intimate knowledge of the area, reflected in On the Other Side of Death Mountain. Dr. Powell practiced as an Ob/Gyn for 35 years. For a decade, he ran a health and healing center. Now retired from medicine, he practices Medical Acupuncture, Hypnosis, Reiki and Shamanism. He travels extensively to teach with the Helms Medical Institute and Acus Foundation, teaching Medical Acupuncture. His passion for holistic health and healing is reflected in his novels and characters.
