Il libro tratta di Scienza, per il Teatro, e insegna a scrivere testi teatrali scientifici. Si comincia a definire quel che s’intende per Scienza, e si cerca uno strumento forte come il Teatro per comunicarla. Questo viene fatto in specie per le cosiddette "scienze dure". Scienza e conoscenza, dice il drammaturgo e matematico Denis Guedj, possono fornire eccezionali spunti drammatici. Io ribalto la frase e insegno a scrivere "teatralmente" la Scienza. Vi sono esercizi, esempi, testi già rappresentati o addirittura pubblicati… il campo è vasto, nuovo, da esplorare.

Ognuna con sue esperienze esistenziali, con visioni di vita differentemente affrontate e manifestate - con tenerezza o con struggente passione, ma a volte con ironia e anche con sarcasmo e - perch no - con spennellate surreali - si sente pressata dalla volont di fissare il valore e il contenuto del proprio "tempo" prima che la nebbia di chi quel tempo non lo ha sperimentato cancelli tutto. Si aprono dunque degli scenari intensi, minuziosamente tratteggiati, come un richiamo al lettore e al suo coinvolgimento sui temi delle relazioni umane, prima fra tutte quella tra genitori e figli. Le domande, i dubbi, le delusioni, le aspettative sono i pensieri che attanagliano ognuno di noi, costantemente: ecco, l'Autrice cerca in s delle risposte possibili o ammissibili, proponendosi senza remore, ma attende dal lettore una partecipazione diretta, v lta al reciproco arricchimento proprio grazie alla condivisione, all'ascolto, al dibattito aperto. proprio questo il tratto caratteristico dell'Autrice, insieme a uno stile vivo, brillante, di grande piacevolezza che accompagna dialoghi, racconti, frammenti di romanzo da cui non riusciamo a distaccarci se non all'ultima pagina.

A stream flowing in alluvium deforms its bed surface, forming ripples, dunes, bars, etc., and, in many instances, it deforms its channel entirely, thereby creating meandering or braiding patterns. It could be said that, in general, an alluvial stream and its deformable boundary undergo a variety of fluvial processes leading to the emergence of a multitude of alluvial forms.This book concerns the physics and analytical treatment of various fluvial processes and the associated alluvial bed and plan forms listed above. Following an introductory chapter on the basics of turbulent flow and sediment transport, the book covers the origin, geometric characteristics and effects of bed forms, from small- to meso-scale (ripples, dunes, alternate and multiple bars); the initiation, geometry and mechanics of meandering streams; the computation of flow, bed deformation and the planimetric evolution of meandering streams; and braiding and delta formation. The book also covers the regime concept, the time-development of a stream towards its regime state, and the formulation of stable, or equilibrium, morphology. The book distinguishes itself by its comprehensive analysis and discussion of key processes involved in large-scale river morphodynamics. They convincingly argue for a new paradigm that breaks with the conventional view of Latinos and Latinas as just another immigrant group waiting to be assimilated into the U.S. The authors suggest instead the concept of a colonized people who now are prepared to contribute their cultural and linguistic heritage to a multicultural and multilingual America.The first chapter provides an overview of the religious and demographic dynamics that have contributed a specifically Latino character to the practice of religion among the 25 million plus members of what will become the largest minority group in the U.S. in the twenty-first century. The next two chapters offer challenging new interpretations of tradition and colonialism, blending theory with multiple examples from historical and anthropological studies on Latinos and Latinas.
