Harold is an iceberg . . . lettuce. (But he doesn't realize the 'lettuce' part because some of his sticker has been ripped off.) So one day when he sees a documentary about how the icebergs are melting, Harold starts to worry, thinking that he's melting too. As his anxiety grows and grows, and he tries to find a way to stop melting, his fellow food friends try to help him cool down in a different way. Accompanied by Rebecca Syracuse’s bold, whimsical artwork, Lisa Wyzlic’s debut picture book is all about the importance of friendship and self-care, perfect for any young reader worried about their planet’s future.

Harold of England is a historical novel written by Kerr Rainsford. The book tells the story of Harold Godwinson, the last Anglo-Saxon King of England. The novel is set in the 11th century, during a time of political upheaval in England. Harold is a powerful nobleman and military leader, who rises to become the King of England after the death of Edward the Confessor. However, his reign is short-lived, as he is defeated by William the Conqueror in the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The novel follows Harold's journey from his rise to power to his tragic downfall, exploring the complex political and personal relationships that shaped his life. Rainsford's writing is rich in detail and historical accuracy, painting a vivid picture of life in medieval England. The book is a must-read for anyone interested in English history, and for fans of historical fiction in general. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Harold Macmillan and Britain’s World Role
Palgrave Macmillan

nidottu
When Harold Macmillan became prime minister in 1957, Britain had reached a critical point in its contemporary history. There was still evidence of Britain's status as a great power, yet the previous year's humiliation at Suez had undermined its credibility. By taking key areas of overseas policy - summitry, the Middle East, defence, Empire, and Europe - this volume looks at Macmillan's attempts to establish a new foreign policy agenda after Suez. Based on research in public and private archives in Britain, America and Germany, Harold Macmillan and Britain's World Role offers a critical reappraisal of British foreign policy between 1957 and 1963, addressing how successfully Macmillan answered his own key question: 'Why should the UK stay in the big game?'
Harold Laski (1893-1950) was perhaps the best known socialist intellectual of his era, with influence in the USA, India and mainland Europe as well as Britain. But he was always a controversial figure and his reputation has never recovered from the effort to discredit him that took place during the Cold War. This new biography argues that Laski has been misrepresented. It maintains that he dedicated his life to the quest for a just society, and that his thought remains highly relevant for our own times.
Harold Laski: Problems of Democracy, the Sovereign State, and International Society
P. Lamb

Harold Laski, born in England at the end of the Nineteenth-century, is a theorist who helped shape political thought throughout much of the first half of the Twentieth-century. Primarily recognized for his contribution to the British pluralist tradition, arguing against state sovereignty and advocating devolution of political power to non-state organizations, Laski's latest writings focused on the relation between capitalism and the sovereign state. This book explores both Laksi's pluralist thinking as well as his later writings on the problems of maintaining and developing democracy and freedom both within and in the relations between capitalist societies. Lamb seeks to explore Laski's work on international politics and its continuing significance to the understanding of politics and the state today.
