THE SUGAR SHACK, A Sebastian O'Reilly Thriller: I wrote this story when I worked for one of the world's largest sugar companies. It gives an inside look into the adventure and intrigue that goes on inside large, global companies, and also the lives of the people that work there; The lives of the people that are usually left out of the headlines and news stories when these corporations do their business, often with no regard for the lives of their employees or their families.It shows the dark side of the global sugar business. But it also shows a lighter side, a side filled with love and romance as we follow the exploits of Meghan and Sebastian and their many adventures and sexual escapades as they fight to expose the corruption that they see around them. I hope you enjoy reading about Meaghan and Sebastian as much as I enjoyed writing their story.EXCERPT: I awoke at 5 AM in the morning. It had been a dream filled night. Images of Meaghan and I together were still milling about my sleepy head. In my dream, we had walked hand in hand through the streets of New Orleans. We had marveled at the antics of the street Buskers. Laughed and giggled at the female impersonators. Danced on Bourbon Street, and ended up back at the hotel tired, but happy. I had walked her to her room and had wished her good night. I had wanted to kiss her, but was too shy. I was just crawling into bed when I heard a knock on the adjoining door. I hastily wrapped a sheet around my naked body and opened the door.A flash blinded me. When I opened my eyes, Meaghan's ear to ear grin was all I could see. "Got you again," she laughed. I realized the sheet had slipped and wondered what exactly would be on that picture. Hurriedly I covered myself, blushing from ear to ear."Give me that camera, you little devil," I said as I chased her around the hotel room. I cornered her and, suddenly, she reached out and yanked the sheet away from my nude body. She scampered around me, and dashed to the other side of the king-size bed. Forgetting my nakedness, I leapt across the bed, grabbing her and pulling her down in a heap on the bed. We both laughed as we struggled for possession of the camera. Abruptly, she stopped laughing, and I followed her gaze to my groin area. Remembering my nudity, I quickly grabbed for a pillow to cover myself. Laughing again, she tried to pull the pillow from my hands.As we struggled for the pillow, her giggling like a little imp, and me laughing like a fiend, I had awakened from my dream. I berated myself - I couldn't even get the girl in a dream. I laughed out loud. I quickly pushed the images from my sleep aside, and headed for my treadmill. An hour on there would wake me up, and get my mind and body ready for a busy day at the office. I turned on a CD, cranked it a bit, and started to run.As the sweat broke out on my body, and streamed down my bare chest, soaking me, I thought again about my plan to investigate Daniel's business activities. Was there something shady going on, or was I just deluding myself because of my interest in Meaghan? I decided that as her friend and mentor I had a responsibility to find out. After all, she could get dragged into something and jeopardize her career.
