This biography examines, in great detail, the life of Theodor Wisch, Waffen-SS General and Swords to the Knight's Cross holder. A member of the "Leibstandarte" from its 1933 creation to the end of World War II, he led some of its most famous combat elements and rose to command the division as successor to Josef "Sepp" Dietrich. Rising through the ranks with the formation, he became a full General in 1944. Among the most decorated officers of the Waffen-SS, accounts of the combats resulting in Wisch's awards are included as well as details of the significant men he served with. Previously unknown personal insights are provided by former soldiers, family members, and historians, detailing all aspects of Wisch's life. Figurationen des Polnischen sind im Werk Fontanes auffallend vertreten, fanden jedoch bislang nur in Teilaspekten Beachtung. Die Studie widmet sich erstmals systematisch und gattungs bergreifend der textuellen Modellierung des Polnischen bei Fontane, geht diachronen Verschiebungen nach, aber auch thematischen und narrativen Konstanten. Zum einen konfliktreich mit Preu en verzahnt (seit den polnischen Teilungen stellen die Polen dort die gr te und widerst ndigste Minderheit), zum anderen ber ein nationalstereotyp gepr gtes Attraktionspotential verf gend, erweist sich Polen als ambivalentes politisch- sthetisches Ph nomen von hoher Produktivit t und Funktionalisierbarkeit in nichtfiktionalen wie autobiographischen Texten, in der Lyrik und im erz hlerischen Werk. Die Untersuchung befasst sich mit Figuren, die polnischer Herkunft sind oder sich als Polen ausweisen, mit abstrakten Textgr en wie polnischen Orten und R umen, popul ren Polenliedern und stereotypen Mustern.
