Close to the Bone: Poetic moments of love and longing
Close to the Bone: poetic moments of love and longing is an anthology of poems celebrating love in all its incarnations; be it lovers, friends or family. It takes you on a journey through the author's rich experience of romance, intimacy, loss, desire, familial ties and that ever-present strive for connection. Be moved, be inspired but most of all, be touched by love. Even though palm to forehead is the only way our pores migrate into one another, my entire body becomes an extension of this practice. He becomes my guru, where I lay limp, hypnotized with this change, feel the evolution of my cells separate with his pull. I am in his hands. Excerpt from Plucking the Brow "During, between and around each line of lusciousness, I found myself wanting another poem, and wanting to be in the scenes myself. What a gorgeous tribute to intimacy and love." Laura Di Franco, Brave Healer and author or Warrior Love, a Journal to Inspire Your Fiercely Alive Whole Self "Dorathina's visual depiction of a strong yet delicate female mind compliments Sand's effortless words. Each page is filled with a thoughtful sort of beauty - pulling readers in as they unravel the heart of each poem." Artemia Perez, local fine arts enthusiast "Close To The Bone is a thought-provoking literary mixture of introspection of the thoughts, and reminiscing upon the life, of its author Erica Sand... Her ever-present feminine grace is at times a subtle whisper, yet other times a passionate moan, but frequently yearning to fill and to be fulfilled." Rick S. Agustin About the author and artist Author: Erica Sand (aka Holly Rustick) is a highly-awarded published author of both fiction and non-fiction titles spanning all spheres of life from business to travel to romance. She describes poetry as the 'deepest root of my love for writing and expression' and with this compilation hopes to impart a sense of sensuality, love and shared experience with her readers. Artist: Dorathina Herrero is a prolific Guam-based painter and doll-maker who finds inspiration from both within and those around her, emulating the people in her life, her dreams and emotions. With a B.A. in Fine Arts and work featured in the Guam Art Boutique in Chamorro Village, her pieces are moving and sensual - a perfect canvas for Erica's poetic musings.

Reframe It Rethinking Your Reactions to Life's Annoyances is a full color, PICTURE BOOK FOR ADULTS designed to reduce your stress level TODAY. But why a picture book? Because you're busy. She's busy. He's busy. We're all busy. Reframe It is meant to be read nugget by nugget, in bite-sized pieces. The concepts are simple and relatable, and can be put to the test right away Jump-start your journey to a happier, healthier life with Reframe It (An EXCERPT from Reframe It Rethinking Your Reactions to Life's Annoyances.)INTRODUCTIONI'm going to give it to you straight. I'm no academic scholar on the subject of mindset. I am, instead, an attentive student of the matter, and a keen observer. And I have observed--as I'm certain you have, too--how quickly we become bent out of shape over situations that are completely out of our control--scenarios that I'll call Life's Annoyances.Of course, when the experience is fresh, these annoyances may seem downright infuriating, overwhelming, unfair, or inexcusable. And perhaps on the surface they are. But at their core, they carry much less weight than we assign them. Time and again, we allow negative gut reactions to snowball into enormous loads we force ourselves to bear, often for much, much longer than is even remotely necessary (AKA dwelling, stewing, overthinking, or throwing fully-catered pity parties). However, if we choose, in the moment, to reframe our reactions in a positive way, we will not only lift the burden of unnecessary stress off our shoulders, we will also serendipitously invite peace into our lives. And who doesn't want peace? Because, truth be told, our reactions affect us more than we think. We may be the most physically fit person in the room, but if our reactions consistently skew our attitudes toward the negative, this slant will eventually begin to affect our health. So, my hope for this book is that it will help you begin to recognize your reactions to everyday annoyances. And, when these reactions occur, you will immediately think of a positive way to spin them. You can alternatively view this book as Positive Mindset 101 or Intro to Positive Thinking. The concepts and ideas are simple and can be applied straightaway. And it'll go like this: I will set up for you 25 common scenarios that provoke stress, frustration, anger, and annoyance, then offer two ways that each situation can be reframed. The first prompt that you'll see for reframing is a Reframe Punch, a tough-love retort for those who might need a bit of a slap upside the head. For gentler encouragement, you'll see a Reframe Nudge. I will also point out that all the scenarios and suggestions are moldable, customizable, and adjustable. You may not have endured the exact situations I describe, and you might not reframe these experiences in quite the ways I offer, but just remember--there are many, many, many ways to spin a situation toward the positive. Reframe It simply gives you a jumping-off point.Oh, and: fair warning: Reframing will take a lot of practice. And a lot of testing. And, believe me, if this is an endeavor upon which you choose to embark, you will be tested Almost immediately. To the point that you'll be tempted to rethink rethinking your reactions But don't give up Because once you master your reactions, you will not only be happier and healthier in your everyday life, but you will also be better equipped to handle the real, even devastating, challenges that present themselves to all of us.

Identity criteria are powerful tools for the metaphysician. They tell us when items are identical or distinct. Some varieties of identity criteria also try to explain in virtue of what items are identical or distinct. This Element has two objectives: to discuss formulations of identity criteria and to take a closer look at one notorious criterion of object identity, Leibniz's Law. The first section concerns the form of identity criteria. The second section concerns the better-regarded half of Leibniz's Law, the indiscernibility of identicals. The third section turns to the more controversial half of Leibniz's Law, the identity of indiscernibles. The author considers alternatives to Leibniz's Law as well as the possibility that there are no adequate identity criteria to be found.

This open access book opens up the black box of mediation in collective conflicts through the analyses and comparisons of various systems. Mediation and related third party interventions such as conciliation and facilitation are discussed as effective prevention and regulation tools for different types of collective labor conflicts. These interventions fit in a new developed five-phase model of collective conflicts in organizations, going from capacity building in latent conflicts, through conciliation, mediation and arbitration in escalating phases, to rebuilding of trust after hot conflicts. The authors promote understanding and discussion with regards to labor mediation systems, presenting comparative research on the perspectives of mediators and users of mediation. This book describes and analyses laws, regulations and practices of mediation in seventeen countries, with a relative strong emphasis on Europe. Part 1 presents theoretical frameworks on conciliation and mediation in collective labor conflicts. Part 2 presents regulations and practices in 12 European countries: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Part 3 discusses mediation in these collective conflicts in Australia, China, India, South Africa and the USA. Part 4 offers conclusions and ways forward. This book offers analyses, good practices and developments for third party intervention in collective labor conflicts in global and local changing environments. This book is a must-read for policy makers, social partners at different levels, as well as scholars and practitioners in industrial relations, human resources management and conflict management, particularly conciliators and mediators.
