Unexplained lights on the side of Blood Mountain were only the beginning of strange things that stirred up the residents of the small east Tennessee community. Matthew, Clair, John and Joann, the characters of "Drawn to Darkness", try to solve the mystery on Blood Mountain."The story took me back to the feeling of being a kid who was always looking to explore mysteries and have adventures " Andrew Frank

Flamboyant plaintiff lawyer Cal Connors sues reporter Leah Rosen, seeking millions in damages for being maliciously defamed in an article she wrote for Texas Matters magazine entitled "Texas Justice Gone Wrong." In the article, Rosen accuses Connors of perpetrating a multi-million dollar fraud on the Texas jury system, her salacious charges catching the eye of the local US Attorney and causing him to launch a full-scale investigation. During the investigation, revelations surface that Connors' law partner and daughter Christine clandestinely entered into an illegal settlement with an insurance claims adjustor, who was forced to flee to the French Riviera where he was subsequently found dead of a suspicious drug overdose. Cornered and desperate, Connors and his daughter go on a scorched-earth offensive of gruesome murders, a lurid kidnapping and treacherous betrayals to save themselves and the financial empire they have illicitly built.

Excerpt from Vignettes: Pastels in Prose Hlubert, who loved the country and the town, Has left his friends; and England sees no more The young, slight figure, musing on the down, Nor France his quiet eyes, that o'er and o'er Traveled her landscape, shaping it so well. His joys were there, but pity for mankind Dnew 'him where surging cities moved his soul: He wrote of men and women, wrecked and pined With bitter sorrow; and the misery stole Into his life till he bade life farewell. Pity he could not stay, for he was true, Tender and chivalrous, and without spot; Loving things great and good, and love like dew Fell from his heart on those that loved him not; But those that loved him knew that he loved well. Too rough his sea, too dark its angry tides Things of a day are we; shadows that move The lands of shadow; but, where he abides, Time is no more; and that great substance, Love, Is shadowless. And yet, we grieve. Farewell. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
