Combining critical race studies with cultural production studies, Navigating White News: Asian American Journalists at Work is the only academic book to examine the ways that racial identification and activation matters in their understanding of news. This adds to the existing literature on race and the sociology of news by examining intra-racial differences in the ways they navigate and understand White newsrooms. Employing in-depth interviews with twenty Asian American journalists who are actively working in large and small newsrooms across the United States, Navigating White News: Asian American Journalists at Work argues that Asian American reporters for whom racial identities are important questioned what counted as news, questioned the implicitly White perspective of objectivity, and actively worked toward providing more complex, substantive coverage of Asian American communities. For Asian American reporters for whom racial identity was not meaningful, they were more invested in existing professional norms. Regardless, all journalists understood that news is a predominantly and culturally White institution.

Es wurde die Hypothese aufgestellt, dass die Komplementarit t zwischen den IT-Kompetenzen von Kunden und Anbietern einen Mehrwert f r den Outsourcing-Erfolg darstellt, der ber ihre individuellen Effekte hinausgeht. Wir stellten au erdem die Hypothese auf, dass die Komplement rit t st rker zunimmt, wenn die IT-Kompetenzen beider Parteien hnlich sind, als wenn sie sich unterscheiden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die IT-Kompetenzen von Kunden und Anbietern wichtige Faktoren f r den Erfolg des Outsourcings sind und dass die Komplementarit t zwischen den IT-Kompetenzen von Kunden und Anbietern den Erfolg des Outsourcings ma geblich beeinflusst. Die Zunahme der Komplementarit t ist h her, wenn das IT-Kompetenzniveau beider Parteien hnlich ist, als wenn es sich unterscheidet. Die Ergebnisse tragen zu einem besseren Verst ndnis der bilateralen Perspektive des Outsourcing-Erfolgs bei und unterst tzen Manager dabei, bessere Outsourcing-Entscheidungen bei der Auswahl von Kunden und Anbietern zu treffen.

Nous avons mis l'hypoth se que la compl mentarit entre les capacit s informatiques des clients et des fournisseurs ajoute de la valeur la r ussite de l'externalisation au-del de leurs effets individuels. Nous avons galement mis l'hypoth se que le taux d'augmentation de la compl mentarit est plus lev lorsque les niveaux de capacit s informatiques des deux parties sont similaires que lorsqu'ils sont diff rents. Les r sultats indiquent que les capacit s informatiques des clients et des fournisseurs sont des facteurs importants dans la r ussite de l'externalisation et que la compl mentarit entre les capacit s informatiques des clients et des fournisseurs influence consid rablement la r ussite de l'externalisation. Questo studio analizza gli effetti diretti e di complementarit delle capacit informatiche (IT) del cliente e del fornitore sul successo dell'outsourcing IT. Concretizzando i concetti di capacit informatiche del cliente e del venditore dal punto di vista delle risorse, sottolineiamo l'importanza della complementariet nell'outsourcing IT. Si ipotizzato che la complementariet tra le capacit informatiche del cliente e del fornitore aggiunga valore al successo dell'outsourcing al di l dei loro effetti individuali. Abbiamo anche ipotizzato che il tasso di incremento della complementariet sia maggiore quando i livelli di capacit IT delle due parti sono simili rispetto a quelli delle due parti. I risultati indicano che le capacit informatiche del cliente e del fornitore sono fattori significativi per il successo dell'outsourcing e che la complementarit tra le capacit informatiche del cliente e del fornitore influenza in modo significativo il successo dell'outsourcing. Il tasso di incremento della complementarit maggiore quando i livelli di capacit IT delle due parti sono simili rispetto a quando differiscono. I risultati contribuiscono ad approfondire la comprensione della prospettiva bilaterale del successo dell'outsourcing e supportano i manager nel prendere decisioni migliori in materia di outsourcing nella selezione dei clienti e dei fornitori.

Konkretyzując pojęcia zdolności informatycznych klient w i dostawc w z perspektywy zasob w, podkreślamy znaczenie komplementarności w outsourcingu IT. Postawiliśmy hipotezę, że komplementarnośc zdolności informatycznych klient w i dostawc w zwiększa wartośc outsourcingu ponad ich indywidualny wplyw. Postawiliśmy r wnież hipotezę, że tempo wzrostu komplementarności jest wyższe, gdy poziomy zdolności IT obu stron są podobne, niż gdy są one r żne. Wyniki wskazują, że możliwości IT klienta i dostawcy są istotnymi czynnikami sukcesu outsourcingu, a komplementarnośc między możliwościami IT klienta i dostawcy ma znaczący wplyw na sukces outsourcingu.
