A romantic desert island...Who first saw and went ashore on Christmas Island will never be known. Where these people came from and when is conjecture though we are almost certain they were Polynesians. Seafarers, either castaways, hopeful colonizers, passers-by, or perhaps all of these, were the first to land there probably as early as the eighth or ninth century A.D. Random voyagers travelling north or south between Hawaii and the Marquesas may have used Christmas as a reference island and thus would in all likelihood have steered to the east. Others may have island hopped through Palmyra, Washington and Fanning Islands on a deliberate voyage. Archaeological remains are few and scattered but definite enough to show that people lived here at one time, perhaps at different periods, however briefly. If any attempt at colonization was actually made it was fore-ordained to failure by the scarcity of coconut palms, the atoll staff of life. The aligned stones at a number of sites could also have been placed by castaways caught in the treacherous currents of the east coast and the Bay of Wrecks and doomed to live out their lives there unable to leave the island. But all this is conjecture and when Europeans first saw the island in late 1777 it was literally a "desert island."

The Karma persuasion is a novel which addresses many of the obstacles that we as a family may face on a daily basis. It also consists of various lifestyle issues which are sure not to discriminate based on age, race, nor gender. But when we have an opportunity to understand how those issues are possessed there is hope for prevention. There are parents and guardians all over the world whom have tried their very best to save the children that they love so dear. Regardless to how much they may have tried some have found their children falling into areas of peer pressure encouraging gangs, substance abuse, bullying or illegal activities. Some youth will attempt to blame their parents for the bad decisions that they have made. Others will just go on never identifying why it was that they have made poor decision to begin with. When we look at the possibilities in why our children become bitter, resentful or rebellious we may be able to make a connection between the three. But as far as justification or blame we must remember that the primary source in this scenario being the parents may have suffered related effects as well. This novel will show a domino affect which has allowed these issues to evolve from generation to generation offering very little preventions. Those whom may have passed on baggage that was given to them catering to bad decision making are not totally at fault. Thank God that even in our mess he finds a way to make good of it. And it is through that blessing that this book was inspired there for offering a great message in a very unique way. I the author was given this vision after being shot down in a robbery gone bad. As I laid there in the hospital connected to tubes and machines, in a deep subconscious State I was totally unaware of the seriousness involved. Just a hair line from death, but the lord had his hands on me just as he had my entire life. Today I am a mentor and boxing coach dedicated to helping our youth succeed and avoid the traps that this world has to offer. I believe that we all are responsible in some way to educate and offer the truth. And that truth starts with the message presented in this book. May it be a blessing to you and your entire family.
