In this gripping sequel to When the Rabbit Jumps, Lucas, a troubled young teen, and Jarrod, an escaped convict, are on the run once again, this time through Southwestern Ontario and the American Midwest. Both of them are attempting to escape not only the authorities but also a past they would rather forget. Separated after a snowmobiling accident that almost proves fatal for Lucas, Jarrod finds himself in a gloomy jail, facing a litany of charges initiated by a vengeful sheriff. After his inexplicable recovery while in the care of an Ontario Indigenous community, Lucas feels compelled to continue his journey. Aided by a series of colourful characters, many of whom are homeless misfits like himself, he and Jarrod are eventually reunited. They continue their eventful journey, with little hope that it will lead to a satisfying ending. Along the way, Lucas and Jarrod help a number of complete strangers who find themselves in trouble. Despite their good intentions, will the two fugitives ever find the contentment and happiness they're looking for?

A RABBIT’S FOOT ISSUE 11
The 11th issue of A Rabbit’s Foot brings readers to the south of France, where we explore all things film, art and culture during the Cannes Film Festival. Benicio Del Toro talks about The Phoenician Scheme and working with Wes Anderson ahead of his return to the Croisette, and we put the spotlight on Durga Chew-Bose’s adaptation of Riviera classic Bonjour Tristesse, starring Chloe Sévigny. We share our favourite movies set in the South of France with a series of beautiful archive images and special essays. We set sail with Hollywood producer Sam Spiegel on his star-fuelled yacht and spend some time with disco legend, and Dalí’s muse Amanda Lear in Paris. There are also anecdotes and unseen photography from the great Derek Ridgers, a Cannes veteran. Complimenting the theme are other stories in Albert Camus and Algeria and Cézanne’s obsession with painting a provençal mountain. There are also colourful artworks by the artist Michael McGregor and an investigation into the closing of Tetou, one of the Riviera’s greatest restaurants. Once again, we’ve assembled the best writers and photographers under one place. The cover features photography by Helmut Newton — an image that is emblematic of life on the Riviera, and the glamour and vibrancy the issue embodies. Issue 10 of A Rabbit’s Foot retails at £20 per issue.
A RABBIT’S FOOT ISSUE 12
The 12th issue of A Rabbit's Foot is about the crossover between the arts and SANCTUARY—a home known or found, a place of escape, or contentment and inspiration. Our cover star Isabelle Huppert meets us in her own sanctuary: the cinema, for an exclusive interview that follows her career and passion for film, and mystifying original photography in Paris. We also spend time with John Malkovich, discussing wine-making in Provence and filmmaker Celine Song in New York ahead of Materialists. Our writer joins artist Emily Young at her Tuscan retreat and hitches a car with author Rachel Kushner through France. Brazilian veteran Fernando Meirelles talks sustainability and City of God, while Harris Dickinson ruminates on London and directing his first feature. Among these deeply informative, human interviews are essays on VS Naipaul by Aatish Taseer and a look at Graham Greene's sanctuary: Capri. All of this and much more compose Issue 12 of A Rabbit's Foot—a 200-plus page compendium of meaningful stories that bring readers across the cultural spectrum in a single beautifully-designed volume.

What could a gay teen, his MAGA-influenced conservative mother, his unhinged high school teacher, a fake evangelical terrorist cult, and a fluffy white rabbit possibly have in common? Everything.Ultra-social conservative zealot and PTA tyrant Martha Molder runs for public office, but she thinks everyone is against her, including her immigrant gardener Enrique, her progressive husband Jack, her gay son Max, and his pet rabbit. When a domestic terrorist duo who pose as an evangelical cult offer to help her, they use a clueless Martha to rob the bank where Jack is the manager to fund their organization. Meanwhile, Jack is having an affair with Max's unhinged teacher Miss Tutley to convince her to run in the election as an even more outrageous conservative candidate so Martha won't win. When Max learns of his father's affair with the town's deranged black widow, he conspires with his fellow students, who have had enough of Miss Tutley's abuse and incompetence, to get rid of her. The madness culminates at a party the teens throw to celebrate her apparent demise, and when the entire cast of characters also attends, chaos reigns.White Rabbit is an absurdist, screwball satire - a blistering rebuke of contemporary conservatism.

When a lop-eared pet rabbit is freed by her dying owner she is begrudgingly befriended by an arrogant brown rabbit who leads her to his underground home. This home is inhabited by Decent Rabbits, who carry flashlights and sometimes lie to one another in order to be liked. Wanting to fit in, the lop-eared rabbit, who has a light that shines from inside her, learns to be a Decent Rabbit, which causes her to lose her light. This tender tale of how she finds it again is about life and love and joy and sorrow and the light that lives in each of us. The "Conversational Questions" at the end of this fable add a unique dimension to its meaningful message. They are designed to inspire both the adults and the children who read it to be their authentic selves, to celebrate their own inner light and to seek that light in others.
