I want you to be my first, Daddy... AMY I sold my innocence for over a million dollars. Don't judge me. You have no idea how far I'd go to save my Mom and our home. This was the only thing I had that could bring in enough money in time, so yeah, I did it. What kind of a guy purchases a girl's virginity though? I had no idea what I'd be walking into when I arrived at the airport. Kris Lane sure doesn't look like he needs to pay for it. Tattoos, muscles, abs like a god, he must be tripping over panties wherever he goes. A girl could do worse for her first. But why is he making me work so hard? Why doesn't he just take what he paid for? By the time I stumble upon what he really wants, he's wrapped me around his little finger... KRIS Buying Amy's virginity was a dare, a high-stakes wager with my business partner. He knew I couldn't resist the challenge. The rules were simple. One week with Amy. I had to resist her every advance and send her home just as untouched as when she arrived. Little did I know that the photos on the website didn't do her beauty any justice. Her body speaks to mine in ways I didn't know were possible. But I never lose. I was winning this bet until she whispered those magic words in my ear. No man could resist her, and it's time I got my money's worth. All bets are off. But what happens at the end of our week together? Warning: This book is a million out of ten on the spiciness scale. When these two get together... this book does *not* fade to black. Keep a fan handy.
Case About Amy

Case About Amy

Robert C. Smith

The Rowley family's struggle began when Amy entered kindergarten and culminated five years later in a pivotal decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. In effect, the Court majority concluded that the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act did not mandate equal opportunity for children with disabilities in classes with typical children; a disappointing decision for disability advocates. The Supreme Court decided that schools were required only to provide enough help for children with disabilities to pass from grade to grade. The Court reversed the lower courts' rulings, which had granted Amy an interpreter, setting a precedent that could affect the quality of education for all individuals with disabilities. From the time Amy entered kindergarten in Peekskill, New York, her parents battled with school officials to get a sign language interpreter in the classroom. Nancy and Clifford Rowley, also deaf, struggled with officials for their own right to a communications process in which they could fully participate. Stuck in limbo was a bright, inquisitive child, forced to rely on partial lipreading of rapid classroom instruction and interaction, and sound amplifiers that were often broken and always cumbersome. R.C. Smith chronicles the Rowley family's dealings with school boards, lawyers, teachers, expert consultants, advocates, and supporters, and their staunch determination to get through the exhaustive process of presenting the case time after time to school adjudicative bodies and finally the federal courts. The author also documents his own "coming to awareness" about how the "able" see the "disabled." In the series Health, Society, and Policy, edited by Sheryl Ruzek and Irving Kenneth Zola.

This volume discusses some of Tan's key themes: communication across generations of a family when those generations have grown up in different cultures, the immigrant experience, mother/daughter relationships, the intersection of gender roles and an Asian or Asian American experience, and depression and the artist, among others.Amy Tan has called writing "an extreme privilege, but it's also a gift. It's a gift to yourself and it's a gift of giving a story to someone." It seems Amy Tan will always be most associated with her highly successful debut novel, The Joy Luck Club. Yet she has also published five other bestselling novels, two memoirs, two children's books, and has participated in adapting her writing into many other forms of media, including film, television, and opera. This volume offers insights into the full range of her creative work.
