Earl the Squirrel and the Great Acorn Caper

This is a story which should appeal to both young and old alike. It was conceived and written based upon the universal concept of God's Law, "Love Thy Neighbor", and that many working together as a team, are more successful working towards a common goal. Earl The Squirrel is the hero in this story, where different animals and species live together in one tree, the same way we all live in one World-get it? They are led by Earl The Squirrel, who tells them that if everyone would go out and gather whatever food they can, they will be prepared to survive through the Winter. When the job is done, they celebrate and feel rewarded for co-operating with one another in order for all to prosper together, "The End." Just like Earl and his family and friends, we too can survive the next "major storm" or "911" if we can learn to live, in peace, as one big family. We must lead in finding better ways to resolve conflict with those we may disagree with, while learning to manage our own anger. "I believe in the concept that 'it takes a village' to prepare our young people to get along on this precious Earth that God has so graciously allowed us to exist." While this is a basic Christian value, there are no direct references to any particular religious belief. The basic principles of Love, Peace and togetherness are concepts that need to be encouraged in these troubling times. There is a lot of "bad" in the World these days, but our children represent all that is good. "It is for them that my heart is guided."

This is another story about Earl the Squirrel, the main character from "Earl The Squirrel And The Great Acorn Caper", my previous book, in the series. In this adventure, Earl meets lots of characters along the way, who help give him directions on where to find his "city Cousin, Sid". The city Squirrels used to live down in Battery Park, until September 11, 2001, when the most unthinkable happened in this country. The World Trade Center was attacked and the towers were destroyed. Many people inside and outside of the buildings perished. Tragically, there were also passengers in the airplanes that crashed in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, who were victims and many of the animals that lived down in Battery Park were lost on that terrible day. The Squirrel family moved uptown to Harlem, to beautiful Central Park. Earl, along with his friend Ollie Owl, decides to go visit his cousin, Sid. There's lots of fun and quite an adventure Come along, won't you?

All ages will enjoy this seasonally frightful, but delightful, Halloween tale about the mean, old Wicked Witch Halloween and the little by who bravely faces her in a battle between good and evil. In the end, good overcomes evil, represented by the Witch and her gold ring. When the red, crystal glass is shattered, the fear and the Witch are gone, and the little boy is left holding the ring, which symbolizes the amazing power within us all. The fear is fear which many of us experience and must face from time to time. Our Faith is our most powerful weapon, with it, we can move mountains. We can stand up and take control of the biggest demons of all--our own insecurities and shortcomings. How far would you run to stay alive? Aimee Hamilton fled to the Piney Woods of Texas. But ... was that far enough? When Tom Branigan shoved his cap up, Aimee saw his puckered brow and figured he was doing his best to stare her down. He reminded her of a bull, head down, ready to charge, with her being the red flag. Smiling, she hustled out of her truck, or at least she tried to hustle. The cantankerous door wouldn't open without putting her full 110 pounds behind a good arm-shoulder slam to the door. When it flew open, she nearly fell out on the ground. More than likely, she'd have a good bruise on that arm come morning. In disbelief, he watched her as she righted herself and then headed in his direction. She noticed a slight curve of his lips before they went rigid again. Did the man ever smile? Come to think of it, she didn't smile much either when she first arrived in Ben Wheeler, Texas.
