Philip recently moved with his family to LA. He is constantly bullied and considered different from the others both because he is new in town and most importantly for the color of his skin. He still has connections with his African heritage and Cameroon. Thanks to the ultra technological glasses stolen from Doctor Chang, he is able to communicate with the glasses and learn math and physics instantly, permitting him to succeed in school. The only person with whom he feels connected is Rose. So, a new and sincere romance develops throughout the book. In the end, everything works well for the two lovebirds (even the medical operation of his mom) and he can finally feel accepted by the other students and in society in general. Phillip's story become eventually known around the world in the end. Overall, the play is well written, effective in its simple but vivid language and realistic (despite the presence of the ultra-advanced technology glasses), with an abundance of important social issues (racism, bullies, own identity and social acceptance) that are marvelously tangled together.

The clock is ticking down to one-half second past midnight on Philip's thirteenth birthday, the time he must enter his name in "The Manifesto" as the next "Entrusted One." Prince Tome has given the smelly Drumgoogles orders to do anything they must to stop Philip from receiving his birthright, and his cousin Anthony has joined the battle. Hope, Faith and Charity's antics seem as silly as ever, but there is magic and mystery in the special messages and trinkets they send his way, IF only he is clever enough to figure it out in time

One of the greatest writers in science fiction history, Philip K. Dick is mostly remembered for such works as Blade Runner, Minority Report, and Total Recall. His dark, fascinating work centred on alternate universes and shifting realities in worlds often governed by monopolistic corporations and authoritarian governments. His own life story seems a tussle with reality, cycling through five marriages and becoming increasingly disjointed with fits of paranoia and hallucinations fuelled by abuse of drugs meant to stabilise him. His dramatic story is presented unvarnished in this biography.

'A thrilling read' Tom Holland'History-writing at its best' Barry StraussBy the end of his short life, Alexander the Great had redrawn the map of the ancient world to create an empire that stretched from the Adriatic Sea to the Indian subcontinent. But his success was not just the product of his own genius and restless energy, it was built on decades of effort by his father.History has portrayed Philip II of Macedon as a one-eyed old man whose assassination allowed Alexander to accede to power. But there was far more to him than this. Through decades of hard fighting and clever diplomacy, Philip unified his country and conquered Greece. His son inherited all of this at the perfect moment for him to win yet greater glory. The work of a master historian, Philip and Alexander describes how Philip and Alexander of Macedon transformed a weak kingdom in northern Greece into a globe-spanning empire and – in so doing – changed the course of history.

"'He was probably the most naturally talented person I've ever worked with.' Will Reid Dick, Engineer on Jailbreak Philip Lynott: Renegade is the story of a pioneering Irish musician. From his early days on his beloved Dublin music scene through the adventurous days of Thin Lizzy, the band he led for thirteen years, Philip himself reveals in song the ebb and flow of his public and private life. Once mainstream success came his way with Thin Lizzy's powerhouse Jailbreak album in 1976, his musical thirst only heightened, and this book also offers intimate insight into his musical experimentation beyond the Thin Lizzy framework. The very subtle solo annexe to the main body of his recorded work with Thin Lizzy is often overlooked despite being inhabited with lyrical depth, honesty and amusing but purposeful misdirection. From the slow burn of his rise with Thin Lizzy to the unfortunate and unnecessary outcome of his short life, Renegade offers a vantage point from the people who were by his side through it all.
