This book provides a cohesive overview of carbon concentrating mechanism (CCM) of photosynthetic microorganisms such as cyanobacteria and microalgae. This unique mechanism is by far the most spectacular physiological process in algal growth and productivity. Due to this fact, the study of CCM has captivated phycologists, algal molecular and cellular biologists, botanists, agriculturalists, crop growers, and most recently algal biofuel researchers, around the world. In the brief, the authors draw a contextual in-depth overview, on the basis of the latest findings, to develop an account of the core concepts regarding state-of-the-art of CCM. Subsequent chapters use this account to explore carbon concentrating mechanism of cyanobacteria and microalgae. They highlight the concise summaries of cutting-edge research and integrated industrial applications of photosynthetic microorganism based CO2 mitigation system, across a wide spectrum of energy and environment. The brief also presents sustainable perspectives of carbon concentrating mechanism in the context of current global energy and environmental challenges.

To study the antioxidative, antitumor and immunomodulatory activity of protein fractions of leaves of Cynodon dactylon and Terminalia catappa on Swiss albino mice. The protein fractions were administered intraperitoneally in mice. The antioxidative and antitumor activity were analysed by liver marker enzymes, enzymic and nonenzymic antioxidants, lipid peroxidation and histological status of liver. The assessment of immunomodulatory activity on humoral and cell mediated immunity were studied by lymphoid organ weight, total leukocyte count, neutrophil adhesion, phagocytic index, antibody titre and protein profile. The results of the study suggested the antioxidative efficacy by enhancing the antioxidative enzymic and non enzymic status, antilipidperoxidative role by inhibiting the lipid peroxide status, antitumorigenic against ELA tumor by increasing the ILS and immunostimulatory against the pyrogallol by the enhancement of the humoral and cell mediated immune responses by the administration of C. dactylonPF and T. catappaPF. Thus Cdpf and Tcpf could be exploited as an antioxidative, antitumorigenic and immunostimulatory agents to combat the oxidative degenerative diseases.

This book provides a comprehensive introduction to the modern study of computer algorithms. It presents many algorithms and covers them in considerable depth, yet makes their design and analysis accessible to all levels of readers. The text book is intended primarily for use in undergraduate or graduate courses in algorithms because it discusses engineering issues in algorithm design, as well as mathematical aspects, it is equally well suited for self-study by technical professionals. It helps the students as a quick reference during their examinations and interviews.

The clinical performance of current adhesives has significantly improved allowing resin restorations to be placed with a highly predictable level of clinical success. High clinical retention rates are consistently recorded for today's systems that are documented to produce qualitative hybrid layers.Unfortunately, retention is a very objective criterion, whereas assessing clinical micro-leakage is much more subjective and requires training and calibration among examiners. To satisfy the growing esthetic demands of today's dental patients, improvements in materials and procedures have been made to make it possible to reproduce the natural appearance of natural teeth with direct and/or indirect esthetic restorations.
