Alex Delaware returns in a thrilling new case, featuring one of the most devious murderers ever conceived by New York Times No.1 bestseller Jonathan Kellerman, author of KILLER and BREAKDOWN. This twisting, unforgettable story is ideal for fans of Lee Child and David Baldacci. '["Motive"] will even keep genre veterans guessing. . . . The twists are both shocking and logical, and the byplay between the leads entertaining' (Publishers Weekly)Even hundreds of closed cases to his credit can't keep LAPD police lieutenant Milo Sturgis from agonising over the crimes that don't get solved - and the victims who go without justice. Victims like Katherine Hennepin, a young woman strangled and stabbed in her home. A single suspect with a solid alibi leads to a dead end - one even psychologist Alex Delaware's expert insight can't explain. The only thing to do is move on to the next murder case - because there is always a next one. This time the victim is Ursula Corey, a successful, attractive divorcee who's been gunned down - not a robbery but an execution, a crime that smacks of simple, savage revenge. And along with that theoretical motive come two strong contenders for the role of suspect: the dead woman's business partner/ex-husband and her divorce lawyer/secret lover. But just as Alex and Milo think they're zeroing in on the killer, a bizarre new clue stirs up echoes of the unsolved Hennepin murder. And the discovery of yet another crime scene bearing the same taunting signature raises the spectre of a serial killer on a mission, whose twisted method is exceeded only by his manipulative and cunning madness.
In this thrilling story from No. 1 bestseller Jonathan Kellerman, psychologist sleuth Alex Delaware becomes the target of a vengeful killer while a baby goes missing.
I got the idea of writing this and all the other "Alex's Bilingual Children's Book Series" because I could not find that many bilingual children's books in the area where we live. Many times I found myself reading a book in English to my son and then translating it into Spanish so he would practice both languages. Other times, I found myself reading a book in Spanish and translating it into English so my son would understand. I also found that it was hard to find a bilingual book with a good message at the end of the story. This book not only allows kids to learn Spanish and/or English, but hopefully will teach your child what's really important when it comes to choosing their friends. As Alex inquires about how to choose his friends, Mom and Dad give him some useful advice. From Dad's childhood story, Alex learns that sometimes kids that seem to be his friends might not really be. Alex realizes that hanging around someone who seems to be the "cool" guy, might not be the best choice, especially when the "cool" guy doesn't care about Alex that much. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I do when I read it to my son. Please point to each word in this book as you read to your child so he/she can start recognizing the sounds that each word makes in each language. This book is perfect for children ages 3-9.
