Creator of the new poetic form, the 777 poem, M. Ray Allen made his debut as a poet at the opening ceremony of The Douglass House Center in Long Beach, California in 1968, where Budd Schulberg, an Academy Award-winning screenwriter, served as the keynote speaker. Allen was inducted as the 80th member of the Morehead State University Alumni Hall of Fame in 1991, for his literary achievements, career as an educator, and community service work with Appalfolks of America Association, a nonprofit corporation that he founded in 1985, to promote the literary and performing arts. Allen is featured as a post-World War II poet in Encyclopedia of Appalachia, a 2006 publication by the University of Tennessee Press, as follows: "M. Ray Allen, a poet and Appalachian activist from Clifton Forge, Virginia, is a native of Martin, Kentucky, whose writing and teaching career led him to help Appalachian youth through literacy and the performing arts." In conclusion, editors, Jean Haskell and Rudy Abramson, rendered, "Allen's poems are widely published in literary arts magazines across the United States and in four book-length volumes." Having won more than 40 poetry awards over the years, Allen's 777 Poems, his fifth book of poems, includes a "Study Guide" and an "Answer Section," both based on the King James Version (KJV).

American Sign Language as a Bridge to English is a unique guide for HEARING teachers of HEARING students to use ASL as a 'bridge' to learn English as a foreign language. The book contains over 250 signs to be used in the classroom, each with a simple illustration and description. Along with the signs, there are also 'snippets' of information that teachers will find helpful. These provide the teacher with information about signing, deaf culture, and other helpful resources. The distinctiveness of this book is that it teaches the handshapes of ASL prior to learning the ABC's. By introducing the handshapes first, not the alphabet, a teacher who is learning to sign for the first time will have a better opportunity to teach the signs correctly to her students without needing to be fluent in ASL. The kinesthetic addition of ASL will help students more readily recall the English word by putting 'ever-present' flashcards in their hands. Since many of the handshapes represent letters of the alphabet, students will soon be fingerspelling their names without formally learning the ABCs. NOTE: This book is not attempting to teach the language of American Sign Language but to use ASL as a tactile aid to recall the English word. The Translator's Law Dictionary is useful to legal translators, comparative lawyers, and internationally active law firms as well as scholars of comparative and international law. While no multilingual law dictionary authored by one person in one lifetime could ever hope to be complete, this dictionary tries to present all the basics in current legal usage in the English language and equivalent concepts and terms from German and French. This dictionary has focused on the procedural and substantive law, the indispensable structural framework to any deeper discussion of the law. As well as the basics of law, this law has tried to present the essentials of commercial law: contracts, torts, corporations, and taxation. Rather, this works presents a well rounded, and reasonably complete exposition of the basic legal terminology of the world's greatest legal systems as part of the construction of the globalization of the rule of law.
