Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is a most common and considerable crop grown in most of the countries worldwide including India. The tomato is consumed in diverse forms including raw, as an ingredient in several dishes, sauces, salads, and drinks. Tomato is usually cultivated in the subtropical and mild cold climatic regions and the plant could not strive against frost and high humidity. Production of tomato is known to reduce drastically due to different abiotic factors majorly due to drought stress. Tomato is highly sensitive to drought stress, resulting in yield losses of up to 79% which is very problematic. The present book is on research done on morpho-physio-biochemical analysis of tomato genotypes under drought stress, genetic diversity analysis using SSRs, and In-silico analysis of drought-related genes in tomato.

This book explains the dynamics of revenue generation and allocation reality of city corporations in Bangladesh. It explores the state of five consecutive years of revenue generation and expenditure allocations of Dhaka North City Corporation and Gazipur City Corporation along with a discussion of to what extent the City Corporation is allowed to enjoy fiscal autonomy through the Local Government (City Corporation) Act of 2009 to generate and manage its local resources. It also finds out the institutional blocks/challenges that the city corporation faces in the process of revenue generation and mobilization, even with the existence of a solid legislative foundation. Central to the book's focus is the resource mobilizing scenario (generation and allocation of revenue) of City Corporation over the past five consecutive years. It suggests some approaches that will serve as valuable resources for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to take steps for strengthening the finance base of urban local government through revisiting and redefining revenue generation and allocation strategies.

*Shortlisted for the Rathbones Folio Prize 2017* In 2011, many Syrians took to the streets of Damascus to demand the overthrow of the government of Bashar al-Assad. Today, much of Syria has become a war zone where foreign journalists find it almost impossible to report on life in this devastated land. Burning Country explores the horrific and complicated reality of life in present-day Syria with unprecedented detail and sophistication, drawing on new first hand testimonies from opposition fighters, exiles lost in an archipelago of refugee camps, and courageous human rights activists among many others. These stories are expertly interwoven with a trenchant analysis of the brutalisation of the conflict and the militarisation of the uprising, of the rise of the Islamists and sectarian warfare, and the role of governments in Syria and elsewhere in exacerbating those violent processes. With chapters focusing on ISIS and Islamism, regional geopolitics, the new grassroots revolutionary organisations, and the worst refugee crisis since World War Two, Burning Country is a vivid and groundbreaking look at a modern-day political and humanitarian nightmare.
