Amado Nervo, seud nimo de Juan Cris stomo Ruiz de Nervo y Ordaz (Tepic, en ese entonces en Jalisco, hoy en Nayarit; 27 de agosto de 1870 - Montevideo, Uruguay; 24 de mayo de 1919), fue un poeta y prosista mexicano, perteneciente al movimiento modernista. Fue miembro correspondiente de la Academia Mexicana de la Lengua, no pudo ser miembro de n mero por residir en el extranjero. Poeta, autor tambi n de novelas y ensayos, al que se encasilla habitualmente como modernista por su estilo y su poca, clasificaci n frecuentemente matizada por incompatible con el misticismo y tristeza del poeta, sobre todo en sus ltimas obras, acudi ndose entonces a combinaciones m s complejas de palabras terminadas en "-ismo", que intenta reflejar sentimiento religioso y melancol a, progresivo abandono de artificios t cnicos, incluso de la rima, y elegancia en ritmos y cadencias como atributos del estilo de Nervo. El sonoro nombre de Amado Nervo, frecuentemente tomado por seud nimo, era en realidad el que le hab an dado al nacer, tras la decisi n de su padre de simplificar su verdadero apellido, Ruiz de Nervo. l mismo brome alguna vez sobre la influencia en su xito de un nombre tan adecuado a un poeta. El 31 de agosto de 1901 Amado Nervo conoci en Par s, en una calle del Barrio Latino, a Ana Cecilia Luisa Dailliez, quien se convertir a en el amor de su vida. De hecho, esta mujer se convirti en su amor secreto, su musa enjaulada. As lo confirma el hecho de que, al ser nombrado segundo secretario de la embajada de M xico en Madrid, Nervo se instal con Ana Cecilia en el piso segundo izquierdo del n mero 15 de la madrile a calle de Bail n, donde ni los porteros de la casa supieron de la existencia de aquella mujer. El 17 de diciembre de 1911, Ana Cecilia contrajo una fiebre tifoidea que le provoc una lenta agon a, tambi n secreta, ya que Nervo la atendi a escondidas, hasta la noche del 7 de enero de 1912 en que muri su musa. La amada inm vil es el poemario que naci esa noche en que Nervo vel en soledad el cad ver de quien fue su amada. El poeta ten a 41 a os. Ni los porteros de la casa del n mero 15 de la calle Bail n de Madrid sab an de su existencia, pero Ana Cecilia Luisa Dailliez fue, desde 1901, la compa era escondida y secreta del poeta mexicano Amado Nervo, considerado en su tiempo uno de los grandes del siglo. De hecho, cuando fue nombrado secretario de la embajada de su pa s en Espa a, su amante permaneci recluida en esa casa hasta que el 17 de diciembre de 1911 contrajo fiebres tifoideas y muri el 7 de enero de 1912. En la madrugada del 7 al 8 de enero, el poeta cre La amada inm vil, mientras velaba el cad ver de Ana Cecilia. Desde esa fecha, y hasta enero de 1918, nacieron algunos de los poemas m s emocionados de nuestras letras, poemas como "Gratia plena", o "Resurrecci n".
