A Mediator in Matthew

What is a consistent theological meaning of the Son of Man in the Gospel of Matthew? For a suitable response, it is essential to analyze all thirty Son of Man logia in their relative literary contexts and in relationship to the gospel as a whole. Also, to bring out the uniqueness in Matthew's portrayal of the Son of Man, a comparison with the other Synoptic Gospels aids the investigation. This work argues that the answer lies in the role of the Son of Man in the first Gospel. In Matthew, Jesus the Son of Man functions as mediator of God's will to his genuine disciples. As the Son of Man journeys through his earthly life climaxing in his death and resurrection, Jesus mediates God's will through his message and works and by exhibiting active obedience to his Father in the heavens. Jesus's genuine disciples learn how to emulate the Son of Man's character and ministry, enabling them to continue it in their future mission. At his parousia, the Son of Man will mediate God's promised vindication and reward for his genuine disciples who have proven their fidelity to Jesus and God's will.

The Old Chisholm Trail

The Old Chisholm Trail

The Old Chisholm Trail charts the evolution of the major Texas cattle trails, explores the rise of the Chisholm Trail in legend and lore, and analyzes the role of cattle trail tourism long after the end of the trail driving era itself. The result of years of original and innovative research—often using documents and sources unavailable to previous generations of historians—Wayne Ludwig's groundbreaking study offers a new and nuanced look at an important but short-lived era in the history of the American West.Controversy over the name and route of the Chisholm Trail has persisted since before the dust had even settled on the old cattle trails. But the popularity of late nineteenth-century Wild West shows, dime novels, and twentieth-century radio, movie, and television western drama propelled the already bygone era of the cattle trail into myth—and a lucrative one at that.Ludwig correlates the rise of automobile tourism with an explosion of interest in the Chisholm Trail. Community leaders were keenly aware of the potential economic impact if tourists were induced to visit their town rather than another, and the Chisholm Trail was often just the hook needed. Numerous “historical” markers were erected on little more than hearsay or boosterish memory, and as a result, the true history of the Chisholm Trail has been overshadowed. The Old Chisholm Trail is the first comprehensive examination of the Chisholm Trail since Wayne Gard's 1954 classic study, The Chisholm Trail, and makes an important—and modern—contribution to the history of the American West.

The professional pedagogue is one of those responsible for guiding and stimulating children's development in their cognitive, physical and affective aspects during early childhood education. Pedagogy training should include a theoretical and practical grounding in motor skills, as well as a body culture approach, so that future teachers working in early childhood education can base their didactic-pedagogical activities on the characteristics of each child. The aim of the study was to draw up a proposal for pedagogues and pedagogy students consisting of an illustrated and explanatory manual on activities to be applied to improve the motor skills of children aged between 6 months and 6 years. It takes into account not only the type of activity to be worked on, but also the age range of the children, the materials and methods needed, as well as the care taken during the tasks, listing the areas that will be stimulated and how these activities affect the child's body. This work was carried out at the University of Pernambuco Petrolina campus under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Tarc sio Fulg ncio Alves da Silva.

Benthic Foraminiferal Biostratigraphy of the South Caribbean Region

Benthic foraminifera from the classic southern Caribbean region are presented in this book, to provide valuable information on ranges for biostratigraphers working in the region and beyond. Around 1000 of the more important species are assembled - from the Barremian (early Cretaceous) to the middle Miocene, approximately 120 to 10 million years before the present. The deeper water benthic species are tied in to the zonal scheme used in Plankton Stratigraphy, published by Cambridge University Press in 1985. The taxa have been brought up to date generically, and in many cases new comparisons between species have been made - the late Cretaceous and early Paleogene are particularly detailed. This information, together with detailed illustrations, will enable the taxa to be used stratigraphically.
