He began life as a throwaway child in a dying Earth its inhabitants oblivious of their self-inflicted demise. Conceived out of rape and incest, inflicted with the hated nickname of "Geronimo," and thrust into a harsh existence, the gift of his birth leads Jerome Track to reach for a freedom he didn't understand and change a world that in his later years regards him as both hero and monster. To understand his own life he begins to write. Geronimo is the first book of his autobiography.
So what do you do when you've lost your instruction book to existence, all the answers you had all fizzled, and the dragon is closing in for the kill . . .
The students of Black Academy named themselves and their athletic teams "Black Mambas" after a snake that was not black, but was quite deadly. An apt name in a school where nothing was what it appeared. It was a school of savants designed to produce a corps of assassins to fill the ranks of Misty, a secret and quite illegal branch of the C.I.A. Randall J. Black Academy was as enlightening as it was dark, an institution filled with love and vengeance, brilliance and death. This school, tucked away in the Maine Enchanteds, was where Jerome Track began changing the world. Black is the second book of his autobiography.
In a near future paleo geological expedition, Gordon Redcliff was the project's main security asset: a sniper. He was also a savant at learning languages which is why he was picked to replace an injured member to go back in time to the last ice age with the warning to change nothing, not even a grain of sand, that might alter the future. And then something went wrong . . .
David Bernard, 45, is switched in time with his 20-year-old self. Both of them now in times they don't belong, and they need to get back to their own time. Only one person has the answer of what happened, why it happened, and how to reverse the situation.

How does Einstein’s description of space and time compare with Doctor Who? Can James Bond really escape from an armor-plated railroad car by cutting through the floor with a laser concealed in a wristwatch? What would it take to create a fully intelligent android, such as Star Trek’s Commander Data? Exploring Science Through Science Fiction addresses these and other intriguing questions, using science fiction as a springboard for discussing fundamental science concepts and cutting-edge science research. It includes references to original research papers, landmark scientific publications and technical documents, as well as a broad range of science literature at a more popular level. The revised second edition includes expanded discussions on topics such as gravitational waves and black holes, machine learning and quantum computing, gene editing, and more. Advancing Global Education is the second in a series of volumes that explores prospects for human development-how development appears to be unfolding globally and locally, how we would like it to evolve, and how better to assure that we move it in desired directions. The first volume addressed the reduction of global poverty. The third will turn to the enhancement of global health. Advancing Global Education presents the most extensive set of forecasts of global education participation and attainment levels to date-providing and exploring a massive, multi-issue database and proposing a scenario for accelerating educational attainment throughout major world regions and 183 countries.

Building Global Infrastructure is the fourth in a series of volumes-Patterns of Potential Human Progress-that uses the International Futures (IFs) simulation model to explore prospects for human development: how development appears to be unfolding globally and locally, how we would like it to evolve, and how better to assure that we move it in desired directions. Earlier volumes addressed the reduction of global poverty, the advance of global education, and the improvement of global health. Volume 4 sets out to tell the story of the future of global infrastructure. The approach used in this book focuses on the question of whether individual societies will be able to meet future infrastructure demands. Related questions include the following: * What is the range of realistically conceivable futures for infrastructure, considering both demand and supply? * How are the demands for infrastructure balanced with the ability to meet these demands, thereby linking the physical and financial treatment of infrastructure? * What are the effects of providing for infrastructure on issues such as economic productivity and health?

While most books on dentistry describe the clinical and medical procedures involved, this book expands the field to examine the role of dentistry and teeth in everything from biology to biography. This book offers facts and figures regarding famous historical figures, such as John Hunter, Dr Crippen, Doc Holliday, and Paul Revere, exploring how their connections to dentistry shaped them, as well as the story of the two young dentists who discovered the principles of general anaesthesia. Other chapters focus on the amazing ranges of teeth in animals, from the teeth in piranhas to the tusks and ivory of elephants and narwhals, looking at their biological and cultural significance. The importance of teeth in understanding the evolution of humans and in revolutionizing the study of archaeology is also evaluated. This book is appropriate for dentists, medical and dentistry students, and non-specialists to introduce the myriad interesting aspects relating to teeth. Please note that print volumes do not include full colour.

The Golden Book of Marcus Aurelius: A companion to the podcast www.themapodcast.wordpress.com

Marcus Aurelius lived from AD 26 April 121 until 17 March 180 and was Roman Emperor from AD 161 to 180. This book is an accompaniment to the podcast "The Golden Book of Marcus Aurelius" which you can find on iTunes or at www.themapodcast.wordpress.com. It contains links to audio recordings of the Golden Book, links to contemporary maps and many other interesting links and facts about Marcus. Marcus was the last of the so called "five good emperors". He came from a wealthy family, who had grown rich from their family brick-works during the time of the Emperor Hadrian (of wall-building fame). Hadrian was aware of, and fond of Marcus as a boy, and interceded in his educational arrangements, sponsoring him - and putting him on what could be regarded as an inevitable path to public office. As part of his education he was trained by several of the brightest minds of his time, but he was particularly struck by the teachings of the stoic philosophers and aspects of the philosophy related to duty.
