Is everything you "know" about the Bible Wrong?To be honest, probably not But like most people, it's easy to overlook the names of places in Bible lands like "Bashan", "Caesarea Philippi" or "Mount Hermon". It's especially easy to overlook key words in the original text like "Rephaim" and "Elohim" because our English translations often don't bother to translate them in a way that preserves their full meaning. (In reality, it's probably impossible to translate many of these terms in ways that capture the entire range of meaning of these terms.)And there's something else at work that may keep us from understanding the Bible on the Bible's terms... many times we do not understand that the Old Testament saints and early Christians themselves had a "supernatural view of the Bible" we don't. They considered the events of Genesis 6:1-4 in a way very differently than modern Christians, especially "Christian Commentators". When this passage is understood. in a supernatural light, it helps make sense of the Bible in a way "picking and choosing" interpretations simply don't. Add all these problems up, and we can miss much of the meaning of the Bible.It's understandable. Our attitude is "let's just get on with the action and the words "But the words and actions of Jesus CAN take on a significantly bold and powerful meaning when we finally understand the geographical background and related spiritual history of key places and concepts. Sin l, sus pel culas, series de televisi n, libros y gran rebeld a, las artes de lucha orientales no hubieran pasado de ser lo que siempre fueron, un sistema ancestral de pelea transmitido de generaci n en generaci n. Chuck Norris es una de las muchas personas que a la sombra de Bruce Lee alcanzaron pronto gran fama mundial, lo mismo que le sucediera a su alumno Dan Inosanto, hoy nico representante moral del Jeet Kune Do. Justo es reconocer que esta fama no hubiera sido posible si detr s de ellos no hubiera un buen artista marcial, producto de miles y miles de horas de duro trabajo. Por desgracia, el cine de artes marciales fue poco a poco decayendo y los intentos de realizar una buena pel cula no resultaron. No bastaba ya conque intervinieran conocidos luchadores (se prob con Joe lewis, Bill Wallace, Ed Parker, Dan Inosanto, Benny Urqu dez, etc.), ni tampoco con buscar nuevos dolos semejantes a Bruce Lee, como es el caso de Jackie Chan. El p blico ya no mostraba inter s con el tema de artes marciales y las distribuidoras se negaban a sacar las pocas que les ofrec an. Algunas, como "La serpiente a la sombra del guila", "El retorno del Ninja", "Por encima de la ley" o " Fuerza 7", tuvieron modestos resultados econ micos, pero el xito no continu . Chuck Norris sigui perseverando apoyado por la Cannon Group, pero en los ltimos a os esta ayuda se acab junto con la productora, y solamente le vemos ya en la interminable serie televisiva "Ranger Walker". Tambi n ha aparecido en programas de televisi n y radio, ha sido modelo de pijamas en Play Boy, fue convocado por el Presidente Ronald Reagan, entrevistado en las mejores revistas de Estados Unidos, y actor de cine en Filipinas, Israel, M xico y un gran n mero de pa ses a lo largo del globo. Pero su paternidad hizo que las revistas especializadas se olvidaran pronto de l, por lo que abandon la competici n y trabaj duramente para vender su imagen, hasta lograr ser una gran estrella de las pel culas de acci n y poseer una gran cadena de escuelas de Karate.
