The Last Rider Team has been doing exceptional work for years. It has seen many different situations which seemed to defy all possible solutions, yet, they have won every epic battle. Some would say it was pure good luck; others simply would acknowledge the team was exceptionally knowledgeable, well trained, and skilled in their craft.Mario would say it was God. He was the director of all things.Whatever the reason, the Country was grateful it had them on its side. The first book in this series introduces the main characters, Mario, Julie, and Lou. They go through many changes and situations in their heroic, larger-than-life adventures before becoming the Last Rider Team. It was a growing love relationship between Mario and Julie combined with a friend and constant companion named Lou that culminated in the group, finally getting the attention of a secret off the book's government agency called the Farm who had noticed the extraordinary talents of Mario. They enticed him to become an agent for them, and after a mission of national importance had been finished successfully, the three were asked to become agents as a field unit. That started the Last Rider Team.In the next book, after years of service had gone by, the team is found to have had a son that now grown, had joined the team as a full agent and helped the Rider Team on many missions. Each even more daring and dangerous than the last. There are significant gangs to deal with and criminals looking for payback against the team. They are also having to go after countries that are not playing fair and want to destroy America. There are crazy people who have real problems and the money to back them up. It keeps the team on their toes with nonstop action and personal drama. It is hard to have a normal healthy life when you're in this A-Team.This last book deals with a surprise Mario and Julie could never have seen coming. It would strike them to their very core. It would send them down a path no one could have prepared for and with no alternative but to accept. It would be their greatest heartbreak and their greatest joy all in one. All while they are dealing with the calamities of a world in chaos. From the beginning till the end, it will have you guessing as to the full import of their discovery, and also to its inevitable solution.Of course, as with all of the books, it is full of personal drama and crazy blockbuster scenarios that only the Last Rider Team can handle. The Team is faced with a Doctor who they want to kill but can't due to circumstances beyond their control. The Team has to locate and train new recruits to replace the retiring original Team and find it is not an easy chore. The replacements they discover are very special and exceptionally gifted, which only later the Rider Team would bring to light why. These new recruits all go on missions as well, proving they are more than capable of being Rider Team material.Of course, you must have missions to stop other governments from destroying America. Where would we be without those? And the final puzzle falls into place with one more recruit who joins the Team. It all comes full circle at that point. Enjoy the last ride.

THE LAST RIDE} By DAVID LEE HENLEY: Is his first work of fiction. It is a thriller based upon a trio of characters, Mario, Julie and Lou. They set into motion a tumultuous relationship while developing a comradery and mutual protection. It starts as a dark and gruesome meeting of the lowest depths of humanity and the best of the virtuous in society all into one place, to bring a riveting picture of life from the different stations of society. It crosses all sense of fair play in depicting the world of the killers intruding into the world of decent peoples.Coming from totally different back grounds the trio find they are connected in some strange and bizarre way to each other. At first glance it is not very apparent. But as time flows the truth would come out. Though two of the three would never believe it.There is a strange and mysterious connection between Mario and some unseen force that alerts and advises him when things get dicey. It directs him in many ways to do the impossible and allows him to work out many violent encounters with an unseen helping hand. All because he listens and follows the edicts of the unknown force. There are eleven chapters. Each chapter having a complete quest from the start till the end. Basically, a composition or series of stories depicting the journeys the trio embark upon. All eventually culminating at a point of understanding, bonding and harmony with each other. But it also opens up a chance, maybe a small chance, but a chance, that in all the chaos, there just might be a way to redeem ones self. To rectify a past beyond hope of salvaging. To perhaps find forgiveness, and to atone for, all the mayhem brought by the two killers. The First chapter; Tells the story of the two for hire killers working for a boss that is more insidious than even they can stand. Upon agreeing with each other to leave this boss they find they will have to earn their freedom the hard way. It's never easy.Chapter two; Tells the story of how Julie came to become a member as it were of this unholy alliance. How she had to prove herself in order to stay alive, and in so doing came to find she had a dark side she hadn't even known was there. Surprise.Chapter three; Awakens feelings never felt before in Mario, being a killer and all. It surprised even him. He is driven to try and save Julie, if he can, from a Super rich criminal who has an army of thugs at his beck and call. Mario being just one man has a job to do and he means to do it. Good luck with that.Chapter four; Mario has a real problem. Everyone wants his hide. He was just trying to do the right thing and now the world wants a piece of him. He has to try and figure out how to save himself and clear his name. Easier said than done.Chapter five; Mario and Julie want to get out of town. Take a long-needed vacation. Maybe take a cruise, that sounded just fine. But nothing ever seems to go the way it should with these people. It always seems trouble just follows them around. A bunch of gangsters a batch of diamonds, a big ship. What could go wrong.Chapter six; In love now. How sweet. But enough is enough. Time to get away for good. Leave the city for Shangri-la. Set up house-keeping and start a new life. In their dreams. Who do they think they are? Don't they know, where ever they go, trouble follows. Guess they just haven't figured that out yet.Chapter seven; Mario is getting to know his secret helper better. At least he thinks he is. Julie and Lou are getting used to ranch life, and now some Government man is poking around. What could he possibly want with a couple of killers and a sweet little Psychologist all in retirement? Just doesn't pay to ask too many questions.Chapter eight; Mario wanted action. The idiot didn't know what he was asking for or he wouldn't be asking. He now has to deal with a gang of sex slave flesh peddlers, illegals and terrorist smugglers, and an a-bomb.

In this short story we find Sargent Smith is a common ordinary individual that has been selected by a dedicated investigative body of which is unknown to humans at this point. It is obvious that no malice is aimed at us or Sargent Smith. Their only predisposition is to follow Sargent Smith for one day and report on his actions and behaviors and create a report for the high council who has paid for their investigative services. It seems we have an unseen force behind the scenes directing some sort of surveillance operation on the world apparently to gain knowledge as to our behaviors. It is also obvious these beings as we will call them are not willing to inform humans of their presence. At least for now. They are doing things on a rather large and broad scale. It is only coming to our attention now because someone decided to write this short story about it. We don't know if this story is true or just a fabrication of this someone's imagination. We may never know. All we have the power to do is read the story and wonder. Maybe throw a laser light toward a star at night and see if it winks back. Who knows what is real or not real anymore? Maybe imagination is just another form of reality.

Why have South-East Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam been so successful in reducing levels of absolute poverty, while in African countries like Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania, despite recent economic growth, most people are still almost as poor as they were half a century ago? This book presents a simple, radical explanation for the great divergence in development performance between Asia and Africa: the absence in most parts of Africa, and the presence in Asia, of serious developmental intent on the part of national political leaders.

By David Lee Henley contains the compilation of virtually a lifetime of writing. It condenses life in all its many situations into easily relatable compositions. Written in a plain English style the author brings animation to life's most challenging and heartfelt occasions in a way the reader can grasp as a "moment in time" they themselves have lived, or have witnessed in other people's lives. Showing a sense of understanding not often encountered in the flighty poetry of many, the author has a deep and heartfelt grasp of the inner soul in writing these poems. When reading these poems, there will be an applicable understanding of the feelings expressed.Literally every poem has a story to tell. Whether it be the melody unheard, but felt, from the many song lyrics in the first chapter, which express many stories about life in a myriad of situations, or to the many other topics covered, all conveying their "moment" as all consuming. The reader is put into and becomes one with, the "moment".There are several categories of poems to give the reader a "change of pace," as it were. Thus so, allowing for a different subject matter when wanted and the reader can alternate from one subject matter to another seamlessly when a different mood entices them.Using the Table of Content can get readers to a specific area of interest for quick look ups. It is well defined and categorized so anyone can see at a glance what may appeal to them and easily explore and find a certain poem or thought that fits special needs or desires. Every one has a poem in this book that defines or relives an occasion in their lives. So, there is something aimed toward everyone here. The first chapter is where you find all the song lyrics, separated into four categories. The first being the COMEDY lyrics. As levity is always a good start in any situation. In the second category you find SPIRITUAL. These are family based and talking to GOD. The third category being PATRIOTIC have two songs. One about the country and the other about the next terrorist. The fourth and last category being MIXED LOVE AND LOST LOVE THEMES, have many lyrics which the reader will find are heart felt, true life, story themesThe second chapter DIVERSE THOUGHT, contains three categories. POLITICS: Which are in this day, controversial at best. Pick a side. This area contains three statement poems. Some will hate them, some will love them. But all are thought provoking. The next category, AGING: has two poems meant to be satirical. But some may think it is otherwise. The last category is RANDOM THOUGHTS; Which just like its name, is what they are. Covering different subjects The third chapter TRUE LOVE AND DEVOTION; are just what the title implies. These are the "just you and me" scenarios Lots of feel good love expression moments. The fourth chapter LOST LOVE: is as expected, the poems about the sadder side of life. We've all been there. And probably, there are more poems here that we have lived through, or seen others go through, than any want to admit. And lastly, the fifth chapter. The author has added his Fathers song lyrics as an acknowledgement and tribute of and to his contribution to the song writing world. If you harbor a certain feeling or desire to read about something your experiencing or have gone through in the past, this book could possibly give you some solace, or may just have the, "put into words", poem you have been looking for.It is hard to believe you haven't lived one of these poems sometime in your life.

In a world dominated by industry created pop idols, the story of David Gray is a heartwarming one of passionate belief in music and a healthy mistrust of celebrity. In this first major account of Gray's life and work, Michael Heatley examines the cult singer/songwriter's Manchester roots, his Welsh upbringing and his unique popularity in Ireland. Here too are the stories behind the four legendary albums that preceded the phenomenally successful White Ladder, recorded in the summer of 1998. Heatley assesses the imact of global success on Gray, who faced with following up his surprise multi-million seller, achieved the near-impossible. The chart-topping A New Day At Midnight, acclaimed by The Guardian as 'Darker, stronger, bleaker and more powerful than White Ladder's wistful sadness,' reflected personal changes in Gray's life and pointed to a fascinating future. In this groundbreaking volume, David Schenck and Larry Churchill present the results of fifty interviews with practitioners identified by their peers as "healers," exploring in depth the things that the best clinicians do. They focus on specific actions that exceptional healers perform to improve their relationships with their patients and, subsequently, improve their patients' overall health. The authors analyze the ritual structure and spiritual meaning of these healing skills, as well as their scientific basis, and offer a new, more holistic interpretation of the "placebo effect." Recognizing that the best healers are also people who know how to care for themselves, the authors describe activities that these clinicians have chosen to promote wellness, wholeness and healing in their own lives. The final chapter explores the deep connections between the mastery of healing skills and the mastery of what the authors call the "skills of ethics." They argue that ethics should be considered a healing art, alongside the art of medicine.

In addition to the treatments and prescriptions they receive, most people hope for relationships with their clinicians that will themselves be healing. Yet few scholars have taken to time to understand just how relationships with healthcare providers can help patients get well. In this volume Schenck and Churchill synthesize the results of fifty interviews with practitioners identified by their peers as "healers." This book explores in depth the things that the best clinicians do. The focus is not on the many theories of healing, but on the specific actions that exceptional clinicians perform to improve their interaction with their patients, and subsequently improve their patients' overall health. The authors analyze the ritual structure and spiritual meaning of these healing skills, as well as their scientific basis. They offer a new, more holistic interpretation of the "placebo effect," and provide recommendations that will promote relational competence, as well as technical competence, in their students. Recognizing that the best healers are also people who know how to care for themselves, the authors examine responses to the question: "What activities that promote wellness, wholeness and healing do you personally engage in?" These responses will be of particular value to healthcare professionals. The final chapter explores the deep connections between the mastery of healing skills for patient care and the mastery of what the authors call the "skills of ethics." Being a good health care professional and being a good person are intimately related. Schenck and Churchill argue further that ethics should be considered a healing art, alongside the art of medicine. This book has relevance for everyone who is or will be a patient, everyone for whom relationships with healthcare providers make a difference-in short, all of us.

Countertransference is an important part of the analytical process. It is concerned with the analyst's emotional response to the patient. As such, it can be a particularly difficult aspect of the analytical setting and especially so because of the threat of possible sexual involvement with the patient. At present there is little available on this difficult topic. Jungian analyst David Sedgwick tackles the subject bravely and shows how to use the countertransference in a positive way. The result is one of the finest Jungian clinical texts of recent years.

In the years since the publication of The Wounded Healer, countertransference has become a central consideration in the analytic process. David Sedgwick’s work was ground-breaking in tackling this difficult topic from a Jungian perspective and demonstrating how countertransference can be used in positive ways. Sedgwick’s extended study of the process candidly presents the analyst’s struggles and shows how the analyst is, as Jung said, "as much in the analysis as the patient." The book extends Jung’s prescient work on countertransference to create a dynamic view of the analyst-patient interaction, stressing the importance of the analyst’s own woundedness and how this may be used in conjunction with the patient’s own. Sedgwick begins with a discussion of the need and justification for a Jungian approach to countertransference, then reviews Jungian theories and presents detailed illustrations of cases showing the complexity of transference-countertransference processes in both the patient and the analyst, and concludes with a model of countertransference processing. This Classic Edition also includes a new introduction by the author. It will be an important work for Jungian analysts, psychotherapists and other clinicians and students interested in the struggles of the therapeutic process.
