Engineers and system designers needed to know the fundamentals of computer operation and how the practical limitations of the architectures of the day, the memory size, cost and performance could be overcome; it was for this reason that this book was first written. By 1980 the microprocessor revolution had arrived. As a result the microprocessor became a component of a system, rather than a system itself, and the need to understand the behaviour of the device became of even greater importance to the system designer. New developments in mainframe computers were few, with networks of minicomputers taking over their role in many instarices. The 1980 revision of this book took into account the major advances in semiconductor technology that had occurred since it was first published in 1972, and included material relevant to the microprocessor.

This book studies how technological solutions can be used to alleviate the current state of legal systems, with their clogged up courtrooms and inefficient conflict resolution methods. It reviews the shortcomings and disadvantages of traditional and alternative conflict resolution methods and turns to Artificial Intelligence for problem-solving techniques and solutions. The book is divided into four parts. The first part presents a general and systematic analysis of the current state of the legal systems, identifying the main problems and their causes. It then moves on to present UM Court: a framework for testing and prototyping conflict resolution services. This framework was developed with the objective of using Artificial Intelligence techniques to build a service environment for conflict resolution. The third part of the book takes a step into the future by analyzing the use of Intelligent Environments in the support of conflict management and resolution. It describes the approach taken and the experiments performed in the Intelligent Systems Lab of the University of Minho. The final part of the book contains the conclusions and shows the potential advantages of the use of Intelligent Environments as a way to implement better conflict resolution procedures (virtual or real), in which all the participants have access to more and better information and are able to take better informed decisions.

This book presents a study of some of the changes brought about by Law no. 13.146/2015 - the Brazilian Law for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (Statute of Persons with Disabilities), focusing on the thesis of the existence of moral damage resulting from inaccessibility. Accessibility was treated in the LBI as a right of the personality and aims to fulfil the purpose of equality between all people, without discrimination of any kind. By elevating accessibility to a personality right, the legal system demonstrates the close relationship between the elimination of barriers and the realisation of the dignity of people with disabilities. In this sense, the thesis defended here is that inaccessibility generates moral damage. From this, it was possible to prove the viability of the thesis that inaccessibility gives rise to compensation for moral damages, as well as other remedies, such as injunctions, cessation and reinstatement. The aim is not to encourage the trivialisation of compensation and the moral damage industry, but to show the great importance that accessibility has for the full realisation of the dignity of people who have locomotive difficulties.

In diesem Buch werden einige der nderungen untersucht, die das Gesetz Nr. 13.146/2015 - das brasilianische Gesetz zur Inklusion von Menschen mit Behinderungen (Statut der Menschen mit Behinderungen) - mit sich gebracht hat, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf der These des moralischen Schadens liegt, der durch Unzug nglichkeit entsteht. Barrierefreiheit wurde im LBI als ein Pers nlichkeitsrecht behandelt und zielt darauf ab, den Zweck der Gleichheit aller Menschen ohne jegliche Diskriminierung zu erf llen. Indem die Rechtsordnung die Zug nglichkeit zu einem Pers nlichkeitsrecht erhebt, zeigt sie die enge Beziehung zwischen der Beseitigung von Barrieren und der Verwirklichung der W rde von Menschen mit Behinderungen auf. In diesem Sinne lautet die hier vertretene These, dass Unzug nglichkeit einen moralischen Schaden verursacht. Auf dieser Grundlage konnte die Tragf higkeit der These nachgewiesen werden, dass die Unzug nglichkeit eine Entsch digung f r den moralischen Schaden sowie andere Rechtsbehelfe wie Unterlassungs-, Unterlassungs- und Wiedereinstellungsklagen zur Folge hat. Ziel ist es nicht, die Trivialisierung der Entsch digung und der Industrie f r moralische Sch den zu f rdern, sondern die gro e Bedeutung der Zug nglichkeit f r die volle Verwirklichung der W rde von Menschen mit Schwierigkeiten bei der Fortbewegung aufzuzeigen.

L'accessibilit stata trattata nella LBI come un diritto della personalit e mira a realizzare lo scopo dell'uguaglianza tra tutte le persone, senza discriminazioni di alcun tipo. Elevando l'accessibilit a diritto della personalit , l'ordinamento giuridico dimostra la stretta relazione tra l'eliminazione delle barriere e la realizzazione della dignit delle persone con disabilit . In questo senso, la tesi qui difesa che l'inaccessibilit genera un danno morale. Da ci stato possibile dimostrare la fattibilit della tesi secondo cui l'inaccessibilit d luogo al risarcimento dei danni morali, oltre che ad altri rimedi, come le ingiunzioni, la cessazione e la reintegrazione. L'obiettivo non quello di incoraggiare la banalizzazione del risarcimento e dell'industria del danno morale, ma di dimostrare la grande importanza che l'accessibilit riveste per la piena realizzazione della dignit delle persone con difficolt motorie.
