Diego Dazzler is the child that hears all, feels all, and sees all. He has a special connection to the Magic Field which, without his meaning to, is growing stronger. Diego's world is being threatened by natural disasters. The weather keeps getting warmer and more extreme. The great ice glaciers are melting and abnormally heavy rainstorms are flooding the land, ruining crops and driving people out of their homes. The cause is an over-usage of Terrafos, the slimy, green-yellowish muck that's pumped out of the ground as means for energy. Secretly, the old inventor Amita has been working with Diego and his friends on a plan to free the land of Rebequin of Terrafos once and for all, by replacing it with a new, cleaner form of energy. Yet Krudon Kragt, the supplier of Terrafos, is relentlessly hunting down anyone and everyone who is trying to take away his position in power. To fight Krudon Kragt, Diego needs to face the thing he fears most: the Magic Field. Diego Dazzler & the Return of the Eagle is the sequel to Diego Dazzler & the Magic Glasses. The original, Diego Zonnesteek & de terugkeer van de adelaar was released in The Netherlands in 2014 and is a best seller. 'Let's all get on Diego's side We need an army of people to keep this world intact.' Bill McKibben, founder of 350.org 'Absolutely recommended.' Jan Paul Schutten, two times winner of the Golden Stylus, the highest award in the Netherlands for writers of children's books

A series of provocative, moving and illuminating interviews with the greatest soccer player ever... Diego Armando Maradona's death on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60, was a death that had been foretold many times. Even when he was alive accounts of his life had a tragic register, of the kid from the slums whose magical talent on the soccer field was squandered by drug addiction. But his death allowed millions of people to ponder both the tragedy and triumph of his life, of a man who was arguably the world's greatest soccer player, who was also a champion for the world's poor. Adorned in the talismanic number 10 shirt that Maradona made his own while playing Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Napoli and Argentina, hundreds of thousands flocked to the presidential palace in Buenos Aires to pay their last respects; millions around the world were similarly moved, creating makeshift altars and murals in his honor. Vatican News called him "soccer's poet." The interviews collected in Diego Maradona: The Last Interview span the breadth of his life and career as a player, coach, and public figure, providing a panoramic and extremely candid accounting of his rollercoaster life, many translated into English for the first time. Included in the book are encounters with Pele, Fidel Castro (who Maradona credited for saving his life) and Gary Linker, who Maradona played against in the 1986 England-Argentina game that sent shockwaves around the world. The book also includes two unforgettable interviews in the last years of his life where he both retells, in both a jocular and deeply honest and emotional way, the story of his life. Maradona: The Last Interview is a fitting tribute to a complicated and brilliant soccer player who moved the world and changed the game of soccer forever.

Sad and funny and bitter and true, a novel about grief, discovering your own story, and trying to listen for those stories that are not yours to tell. August 2014. Two friends, writers Damaris Caleemootoo and Oliver Pablo Herzberg, arrive in Edinburgh from London, the city that killed Daniel--his brother, her frenemy and loved by them both. Every day is different but the same. Trying to get to the library, they get distracted by bickering--will it rain or not and what should they do about their tanking bitcoin?--in the end failing to write or resist the sadness which follows them as they drift around the city. On such a day they meet Diego, a poet. They learn that Diego's mother was from the Chagos Archipelago, that she and her community were forced to leave their ancestral islands by soldiers in 1973 to make way for a military base. They become obsessed with this notorious episode in British history and the continuing resistance of the Chagossian people, and feel urged to write in solidarity. But how to share a story that is not theirs to tell? Sad, funny and angry, this collaborative fiction builds on the true fact of another: a collaborative fiction created by the British and US governments to dispossess a people of their homeland.

Working in different media, Diego Rivera (1886-1957) and Juan Rulfo (1917-1986), are identified as monuments to two distinct moments in Mexico's cultural history, yet their works have never been examined comparatively. Reading their artistic corpora side-by-side reveals a shared preoccupation with the body that sheds light not only on its function as a critical political signifier in their works, but also on how the concepts of nation and revolution were conceived, articulated and contested in primarily corporeal terms in the decades following the Mexican Revolution (1910-1917). Drawing from a varied multimedia archive encompassing well-known and previously overlooked essays, murals, illustrations, photographs, films and literary texts, Lucy O'Sullivan engages in a close analysis of Rivera's and Rulfo's corporeal imagery to trace broader shifts in aesthetic and intellectual interpretations of post-revolutionary nationhood, from the euphoria of the 1920s to the phase of intellectual disenchantment beginning at mid-century.Lucy O'Sullivan is a Lecturer in Hispanic Studies at the University of Birmingham.
TAKE A LOOK INTO THE RICH HISTORY OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL AND THE GRAND OLD NAME OF CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB WILL INEVITABLY ENJOY MORE THAN A PASSING MENTION. AND AFTER A FRUSTRATING SEASON WHICH SAW THE CLUB FINISH TANTALISINGLY CLOSE TO WINNING THE PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE, THE SUMMER OF 2014 WITNESSED THE ARRIVAL OF A NEW STAR IN WEST LONDON. Fresh from an outstanding season in Spain, where his thirty-six goals had propelled Atletico Madrid to a first La Liga title since 1996 and to within seconds of a maiden Champions League crown, Diego Costa arrived at Stamford Bridge for GBP32 million. Brazilian by birth, Costa had caused an enormous wave of controversy in his homeland after opting to take Spanish citizenship and a subsequent place in Spain's squad over the opportunity to represent the Selecao in a home World Cup in 2014. An early exit for Spain ensued but, undeterred, Costa arrived in the English capital tasked by manager Jose Mourinho with scoring the goals that had eluded many of his predecessors the previous season. And with a Premier League record of seven goals in his first four starts he took to the physical nature of England's top division with typical aplomb.Costa began his nomadic rise to the top via the lower echelons of Portuguese and Spanish football, before establishing himself as a force under Diego Simeone's rejuvenated Atleti. Affectionately nicknamed 'El Cholo', 'the Beast', his pace, power, aggression and deadly finishing have swiftly seen him become a crowd favourite at 'the Bridge'. Diego Costa: 'The Beast' is an in-depth look into the life of this spectacular footballer and his rise to the very top.
