The Name of God Glorified in Christ, Several Sermons Preached From Exod. Xxiii. 21. by the Reverend Mr. Ebenezer Erskine, ... The First of Which was Preached in September 1734,
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. He served as a crew member on a privateer ship. He survived a loss by the American Army three times greater than Custer's Last Stand. And, he was one of the first Americans to ever visit the shores of Lake Erie. Author James A. McQuiston presents the most-detailed book ever written on Denny, answering several riddles and correcting many facts previously written about this man. Ebenezer collects words. But it's hard to find someone who shares his passion. No one seems to understand Ebenezer's word collections, but his efforts are finally appreciated when he meets Fitzgerald. Though, Fitzgerald doesn't have a word collection--he has an idea collection. Together, they are able to create stories that entertain their classmates and families and learn more about one another as friends. Chelsea H. Rowe's offbeat story about friendship, collaboration, and a love for both language and stories is perfectly depicted by Frank Dormer's quirky illustrations. Perfect for vocabulary building, this book also includes a list of words and definitions in the back.

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, "Thus far the Lord has helped us." -1 Samuel 7:12The ancient Israelites often erected large stones to memorialize important events in their history, especially times when God intervened on their behalf. These stones served to remind them, and any who would see them, of God's goodness and faithfulness in their lives. They were called 'Ebenezer Stones.' Twelve poems.

Ebenezer Mission Station, 1863–1873
This book contains the annotated diary of Adolf and Mary (Polly) Hartmann, missionaries of the Moravian Church who worked at the Ebenezer mission station on Wotjobaluk country, in the north-west of the Colony of Victoria, Australia. The diary begins in 1863, as the Hartmanns are preparing to travel from Europe to take up their post, and ends in 1873, by which time they are working in Canada as missionaries to the Lenni Lenape people.Recording the Hartmann's eight years at the Ebenezer mission, the diary presents richly detailed insights into the daily interactions between Aboriginal people and their colonisers. The inhabitants of the mission are overwhelmingly described in the diary as agents in their lives, moving in and out of the missionaries' sphere of influence, yet restricted at times by the boundaries of the mission. The diary reveals moments of laughter, shared grief, community, advocacy and reciprocal learning, alongside the mundane everyday chores of mission life.Through the personal writings of a missionary couple, this diary brings to light the regular, routine and extraordinary events on a mission station in Australia in the third quarter of the nineteenth century-a period just prior to British high imperialism, and a period before increasingly restrictive legislation was enforced on Indigenous people in the Colony of Victoria.
