The ever-growing need for learning, especially English language becoming lingua franca, has created a huge challenge for teachers of English. There have been many conceptions of a teacher s role and the work they perform, however, these notions do not constitute a perfect model of a teacher as an educator of many young generations living in the changing world. The thesis consists of eight chapters that describe the reforms of Polish educational system in the context of teacher's and student's work. It also presents some general considerations devoted to the issue of educational process including training, motivating, controlling, organizing and self-educating in the era of globalization.
